The Sense has an accelerometer sensor and Bluetooth phone access. I believe that is what would be needed hardware wise for fall detection. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was being worked on as a software update for the Sense, and if so when it might be made available? It's becoming a desirable function of smartwatches. Many watches now support this feature.

@BJBFit Fitbit doesn’t announce what features it is developing until it releases them. I know that Google recently added fall detection to Pixel Watch. The way to give feedback to Fitbit on this topic is through the Product Feedback forum.

@BJBFit I highly doubt Fitbit/Google are doing anything to improve the Sense, their focus is on the Sense 2 (lite), or Pixel Watch. So far they have only removed features.

Hi @BJBFit - as @Jdsenter says, it is highly unlikely they will retrofit a fall detection feature to a Sense or even Sense 2, even though there is a long standing feature suggestion for it.
If you need that feature unfortunately you will need to look at other brands.

Planned obsolescence. I like the Sense very much, but I'll start looking at a replacement that does have that feature I guess.
