Issues with Notifications

Is anyone having issues lately with Fitbit Sense not getting any notifications. I have done everything re-installed the app, setup my sense again. The notifications show on my phone but never make it to my watch, it just happened all of a sudden yesterday. Any suggestions.

I seem to have the opposite... i get notifications for blooming everything... and need to find the time to turn certain ones off. 😂

I just contacted customer service to help me with it.  apparently I need help from a specialist and who knows when someone will contact me.

it seems to be if you have your phone on silent then it doesn't get the notification. where it wasn't an issue before as my phone was always on silent. if you put your ringer on or on vibrate them come through. I am on the android platform as well, not sure if that makes a difference.

Yes if the phone is on silent, the phone doesn't send notifications to the lock screen and no notifications will show up on the Fitbit. 

If notifications are setup and all permissions have been given. I find a restart or a shutdown of the phone or helps. 

Worse case I disable notifications, or log out of the app. When enabling notifications or logging in, I am required to renew the app permissions.

My setup of my phone has never been an issue. Why all of a sudden now it
is. I have done all those things and it doesn't work. I need a different
answer to this very annoying issue.

We are still waiting to find out what phone you have been requesting help for. 

 

If your phone is doing everything right. Is the tracker on its DND or Sleep mode? 

BTW we do not know what has been tried or if you see any error messages.

My phone is an S10+ and the tracker isn't on sleep mode as I tried it all.
There are not error messages at all either.

A phone or Fitbit app update may revoke access. Have you checked permissions, Turns off notifications then turned on? Logged out of the Fitbit app / logged in? 

Either option will force the app to renew permissions. 

Is power management still disabled for the Fitbit app?

I have just done all those things and nothing. I also have a versa 2 being
used by someone else and same thing is happening.

I have the opposite happen - sorry to be awkward lol.

 

I have my phone on silent all day at work - and I'm still receiving notifications on the Fitbit.

Sense User:

Exact same thing happened to me when I woke up this morning, no smart notifications. Only normal calls were coming through. On one of the forums for versa I read that for Android phones if you go to Settings > Apps > Fitbit and then clear all cache as well as storage, it resets the whole thing. Your data will not be lost, just that you will have to log in to your account on the app again and set things the way you had before (cumbersome, yes) but worked.

 

I am not able to get WhatsApp CALL notifications though. Any idea why?

I did that and nothing. I get zero notifications from any app or anything
like that.
