Hi, @djcrobertson , I haven’t heard of any current issues, but there have been times in the best when the connections between Fitbit and third party apps result in either “loss” of steps or duplicate “false” steps, so, yes it could be that. I think it most likely happens when either Fitbit or the other company updates their app without noticing any unwanted side effects.
It’s possible that your missing steps will appear in a few hours - that also sometimes happens.
I am guessing that your suspicion is correct. You can try this out for a while longer and then decide whether the benefit of linking Fitbit and Strava is worth the extra potential complications.
It will be really interesting to see your experience, so please do post back. You can also join in with any extra information on this here or in the “Get moving” area here in the forums.

@djcrobertson do you have Mobile Track enabled?
Where these 27K of steps on the tracker or the Fitbit App?
Hi Rich
I don't know what "mobile track" is? The 27k steps were on my tracker. I'd been hiking in an area with no cellular/mobile data. When I arrived home I synced and the number dropped to 20k on the tracker and the fitbit app.
