Missing Data on Fitbit Sense

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Over the last few months my Fitbit sense has not been recording my Sleep score correctly - several times it indicates that I got up in the middle of the night and stayed up when I didn’t even get out of bed at that time.

During October I have now had 2 issues where I have not received much of the data at all.  Twice now, in the mornings, I have received no sleep score, no readiness score and only my oxygen saturation from the health metrics scores.

I have contacted support about this but never received a salutation from the first instance.  I contacted them again this morning and am waiting to see if there is a solution.

I am wondering if anybody else has had this problem or if it’s just my Sense.  I have had numerous problems with the Sense and am on my 2nd replacement (the first one lasted 6 months, the second one lasted one week and this one is now having issues).

Curious if anyone else has had any similar experiences with their Sense.

  1. Update Firmware: Make sure your Fitbit Sense has the latest firmware installed. Manufacturers often release updates to address bugs and improve performance.

  2. Sync and Restart: Sometimes, syncing your device with the Fitbit app and restarting both your device and the app can resolve syncing issues.

  3. Check Sensors and Placement: Ensure the device is properly placed on your wrist. Clean the sensors on the back of the device, as dirt or sweat could interfere with accurate readings.

  4. Review Fitbit Community: Fitbit has an active community forum where users discuss issues and share solutions. Browsing the Fitbit Community might help you find others with similar problems and potential fixes.

  5. Contact Fitbit Support Again: If you haven't received a satisfactory response from Fitbit support, consider reaching out to them again. Persistence can sometimes lead to a better resolution.

  6. Warranty and Replacement: Since you've had multiple replacements and still face issues, it's important to check the warranty status of your device. If your device is still under warranty, Fitbit should provide you with a working replacement.

  7. Consider Alternative Devices: If problems persist and you're out of warranty, you might want to consider other fitness trackers or smartwatches from different brands.

Update:  I just received a response email from Fitbit.  It was suggested that I update my app (which I did).  They also had suggestions to change my sleep sensitivity level, which was already at the sensitive level and then a number of suggestions for my readiness score, all of those criteria had been met, so my hope is that updating the app may help with seeing my scores tomorrow.

However, I'm still curious if anyone else has had any similar issues, and how and if they resolved them.  🙂

violagarnder: Thank you for your detailed answer.  Unfortunately, my warranty has now expired and I've done all of the above, so the only option I have left from your suggestions is to consider another smartwatch.

Hi @Jude1616 - if you have the latest Fitbit App there are numerous issues with it which may be the cause and not the watch.

Have a look in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in the appropriate iOS or Android app forums where you will see more fully the issues.

Unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with thie new version officially. Though there may be some tweaks over time already mentioned there.

@royalle -
Thank you for your post.

Fitbit suggested a number of options, most of which I had already done or implemented.  The only thing I hadn't done is update the app (even though I have that new, horrible version already).  This morning all my data was there but my sleep data was grossly incorrect (saying I was up for 2 hours from 2:24 to 4:25 which was absolutely not the case) so of course my readiness score was totally skewed. I'm not sure if there's anything else can be done but I'll wait to see what else they suggest.
