Multiple issues experienced with the Sense

I thought I’d list the bugs that I have encountered so far in the Sense watch and Fitbit app.

  1. Random reboots. Every so often the sense spontaneously reboots. My Versa 2 did this very occasionally, too initially but the sense does it with irritating regularity.
  2. The SPO2 clock face worked for four nights, now for the last two nights, it tells me “Couldn’t read SPO2”
  3. Opening the Stress Management section of the Fitbit app makes it crash every time.
  4. The Fitbit app tells me that there is an update for EDA Scan. All my attempts to update it have failed.

I hope I won't be adding to the list, but I'm not optimistic. I haven’t mentioned design oddities like having to have a specific clock face active to measure SPO2 or measurement inaccuracies. Just bugs, some more annoying than others but all somewhat inexcusable in a supposedly release-ready product.

I am very disappointed with this watch.  My disappointment started when I connected the Sense to my phone app account.  The app told me it found a Versa 2 and it proceeded to kick my Versa 2 off and replaced it with the Sense.  I didn't see anything in the sales literature that stated my $250 watch would be so much junk.  I know you can't have two of the same model but now you can't have two different models at the same time?

I also noticed that the Sense is logging sleep time while I am sitting and working on  the computer.  The sleep detailed display is horrible.  In many ways my Versa 2 is a more useful product.  Disappointed in this purchase.

Although I'm the person who started this thread about bugs, having been through similar experiences with other new smartwatches on their introduction, I rather expected something like this with the Sense.

Overall, I think it's a pretty good device whose quirks will be ironed out over time.

So after many reboots I decided to send it back to Amazon as faulty and buy a replacement Sense.  Since wearing my replacement I've had no reboots.  Just silky smooth operation.  I'm now a happy Sense user.

Hi everyone. It's good to have you on board.

@forthewatch and @marksurry, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the Sense and its features. I'm glad that your watches are working flawlessly. @David_J, thank you also for the feedback. Our team continues working on each of our products to enhance their performance, and I'm sure your comments will be taken into consideration to improve your experience with this watch.

@onclewillie, thanks for letting me know that you got the Sense. I'm sorry for the inconvenience in setting it up together with your Versa 2, and for the incorrect sleep logs tracked. Let me explain that the Versa 2 and Sense have a very similar operative system and because they use the Fitbit App Gallery, the Fitbit app doesn't allow you to have both of them in the same Fitbit account. I understand that you'd like to have multiple devices connected in the same account and our team has received feedback from our members in the Feature Suggestions board. While this isn't yet possible, let me recommend to post this idea in that board so it can gain the attention of our developers.

In regards to your sleep records, were you wearing your Sense at that time? Or was it placed on a desk or table? If you've not done so, try performing a restart and wear your watch a finger’s width above your wrist bone when you're not exercising.

I'll look forward to your response.
