Sense - Non-operating temperature

My Fitbit sense isn't charging. When I put it on charge, after a few minutes it starts to beep and with error message stating that it's below operating temperature and requesting me to warm it up. What shall I do?

I tried to wear it outdoor to see if it'll warm up but no solution.

Hi @Kayode, welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with the issue you are currently experiencing with your Sense that is not charging because it's "too cold".

According to the user manual of the Fitbit Sense, the device require some environmental conditions:

Environmental conditions

  • Operating temperature: 14° to 113° F (-10° to 45° C)
  • Non-operating temperature: From -4° to 14° F (-20° to -10° C) to 113° to 140°F (45° to 60° C)
  • Charging temperature 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C)

If you live where the environmental temperature falls below 14 ºF (-10 ºC) you may get a similar message. If you are certainly sure this is a mistake, try to re-establish the device's temperature parameters by restarting it. To do so, press and hold the button for 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on the screen, and then release the button.

Hi David,

Thanks for your response. I’ll try and restart the device again as you
suggested, even though I’ve done so in the past.

Just for your information, I live in one of the hottest regions in the
world, in the Middle East, where temperature sometimes is above 50 degrees
Celsius.

But that notwithstanding, I’ll do as you have suggested with the hope that
I can get the device working again. I really like Fitbit and don’t want to
get another brand.
