So I've had this issue for a couple months now, I can't think of when it actually started but it could have either been an android update or a Fitbit firmware update.
I have a Galaxy S9+, my app is updated, my Fitbit is updated, Bluetooth is always on, I allow it to run in the background, battery optimizer is off, ect. No matter how many times I set up my Fitbit to receive my text notifications and calls, hours later or even the next day, I have to go through the process all over again. And even then it's not guaranteed that it'll stay that way. I've read plenty of articles on how to set up my notifications and have troubleshooted for weeks/months now.
I don't think I'm the one one experiencing this problem. Please, the Sense is one of the latest devices, this problem needs some priority. Thank you!

To anyone still having this issue, i was able to fina a work around. The issue seems to be with the "Text Message" option itself. I suspect that the option is glitched and for some reason disables itself.
The workaround I've found is to disable the "text message" option, and under "app notifications" select the messaging app you want your notifications from. Ever since I've done this I haven't missed a text message or needed to re-pair my Fitbit in order to get my texts.
It's important that you disable the "text message" notifications otherwise you will not be able to select your text message app under "app notifications" because Fitbit already thinks it's already being used by the other option.
Now I know this works for texts but I don't think it solves the issue fully if you also are not receiving notifications for phone calls. So I think Fitbit still needs to send out an update or a patch to fix this issue completely.

I’m having the exact same issue! I have an iPhone 11 promax and I received my Sense for Christmas. Worked perfect until about four days ago. And it randomly started disconnecting from my phone. Kept telling me that it lost in the Bluetooth pairing. I can reconnect it as the instructions tell me to and sometimes it will stay connected for a couple hours, other times within minutes it will disconnect again. I have even went as far as completely deleting the Sense and starting over from scratch. Nothing seems to help. It is extremely frustrating as I have grown to rely on my wrist telling me I’m getting a phone call if I walk out of the room. Had 0 issues with my Versa 2 and had it for almost 2 years.

I feel you, it's incredibly frustrating. I got used to having it all the time as well. It was nice to be able to see my texts while I'm working and not having to randomly pull out my phone just to find it was spam email. I had no issues with this when I first got my Fitbit back in March 2021. It has only been an issue for the past couple months. Hopefully this post will get some more traction so we can get answers.

Hi @IDerpSoMuch - it could be a phone issue, are the notifications appearing on the phone and have you rebooted the phone? And is Bluetooth also not being battery saved by the phone?
It can also be a version change in the Fitbit App.
Although it doesn't help I have the same phone and watch as you with no problems but have older versions of 3.51.1 App and 44.128.5.38 firmware which would indicate one of those two updates is the cause.
What you could try is to remove the Sense Bluetooth entry, logout of the App and back in.
Go to the home screen on the phone without closing the Fitbit App, a sync popup should appear, click on it and it will pair and link the watch again.
This may improve the issue with a new Bluetooth pair.

I don't even see an option to battery save my Bluetooth.
App: version 3.54
Sense: version 44.128.6.12
I have also re-paired my Sense with my phone multiple times as well as Sense Controls.
If this is an app or firmware issue I hope Fitbit can actually fix this bug for a lot of people.
Edit: also my Fitbit has no issues syncing with my phone, the only issue is my notifications.

I have the same issue. I have a Pixel 4xl and the Sense continually disconnects every couple weeks from the Bluetooth. It will take about 4days for the connection to finally reestablish. That is of course I replace the sense, virtually, with the same one. Then it takes me almost 2hrs for that to set up properly.... Only to be in the same situation 2 weeks later.
