My experience with Fitbit Sense

This is probably the 5th Sence that I have owned because they NEVER last more than two years! I ALWAYS buy the warranty because I know that I will need it.  Note that the extended warranty is not with Fitbit.  It is an outside company and you can't get a warranty beyond two years because Fitbit must know their products are not built to last more than a few years.  I am really disappointed.  What is your experience?  Time to consider Garmin?

Same as you ! Prior to owning a sense I had a Ionic (before the global recall) that had any issues when swimming but at least customer service used to be quick and efficient then and replacement quick and efficient. I have notice many issues with my sense also and I see very poor response from customer service and very unfavorable for us customer. It seems pretty obvious that planned obsolescence / built-in obsolescence is in place or rather maybe very poor quality of material. Most of my activities now are painstaking because I know that my main activities will be a hassle because my watch will not function properly.

Customer Support is going in circle repeating every single time the same answer : update your app and reset the watch to factory settings... and sill issue is not fixed.

I have now bought a scale from competitor (Garmin) and getting used to their interface and will probably switch with them for my next watch. Many of my friends from Fitbit communities (also completely destroyed by Fitbit) have moved to Garmin and I can only notice that they have little to no issue with their device on same category range (multisport watch) and also activities are a lot more accurate. I am tired of fighting (waste of time and energy) with inadequate customer support (or rather in my case lack of support).

Garmin really seems to be a more viable and sensible choice judging by the current state of Fitbit

I switched to a Sense from a Versa 2 around a year ago. I went with the Sense vs Sense 2 because the Sense seems to have more features than the newer Sense 2, and because I found one new-open box on eBay for a great price. So far, so good for me. I see all the posts from people with Sense issues at around the 12 - 18 month mark, so I am waiting to see how long mine lasts.

I have had my Sense since June 2021, it is still working as advertised. When my Ionic failed due to a crack in the display and water got into it, I learned a valuable lesson don't get this device wet. Once the seal fails and water gets inside the device will fail. So YMMV but mine has lasted. Not sure why your's failed after two years?

Fitbit Ionic 72.1.15 (recalled), Fitbit Sense 128.6.17 and Pixel Watch 2 BW1A.250605.004.
