Notification "Open" action doesn't work (except Youtube and weather)

Firstly, let me emphasise, this is *NOT* an issue with the notification not showing up on the watch...

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S21+ with the latest available firmware (One UI 6.1).

I receive app or message notifications on the watch. When I swipe down and tap the notification a summary is shown and a number of actions are listed at the bottom, usually, Open, and Clear, along with a few others.

Open always used to launch the respective app on my phone so that I can see the notification in full context. I did not need to do anything on the phone other than unlocking it - the app should be at the front with the notification target showing, as if I had tapped it in the phone's notification centre.

Since early in 2024, this Open feature has not worked properly, other than for  Google weather notification or YouTube notifications.

It does not work for BBC news, WhatsApp, SMS (messages), Instagram, X, Gmail. In some apps, trying to do this causes the app to become unresponsive until it is force quitted.

I have reported this many times through the support channels; it's always the same routine - a circular chat until I re-clarify that notifications are working but it's the open function that is problematic. I have even had them swap out my fitbit but the issue remained. As far as I can tell I am running the latest available version of the app (which, of course has gone through many updates since I first reported this; none of the updates have changed the situation) and the Sense does not indicate that any updates are waiting for it (bearing in mind this issue has persisted over two devices).

I've not spotted anything in the community forum regarding this - most concerns seem to be with notifications not reaching the watch.

Am I really the only one this has happened to? Is it an issue with One UI 6 ?
