Notifications are not coming through my Sense

The on wrist call and other notification don't work. It tells me that a phone restart is required. I removed all the Bluetooth devices and restarted the phone but no luck. Also, the Bluetooth for sense keeps on disconnecting with my phone. No idea how to fix it.

Hi, @Goradia, welcome to the community, It's a pity you have a problem with your "Sense" and the connection to your phone. You do not mention what make or model phone you are using or if notifications worked previously. Most phones work with Fitbit devices and Fitbit-compatible devices provide guidance and advice about basic requirements and any special issues. You should ensure the Fitbit app in your phone has all permissions allowed and any battery-saving features in the phone are disabled in the Fitbit app. This last is because some phones close down the app to save power when it needs to be running in the background.

I hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Cheers

Hi there, @Goradia. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Sense before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.

As a first approach, please make sure that the phone you're syncing with meets the requirements listed here.

If you're getting this error message “Notification service is not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker”, please note that we’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.

I'd like to provide the following steps that actually work for Huawei users; however, if you have another Android phone, I'd still recommend to give them a try:

  1. On your phone, open the Settings app > Apps and notifications > Apps.
  2. Tap Fitbit > Battery.
  3. Turn off the Power-intensive prompt option.
  4. Tap Launch.
  5. Turn off the Manage automatically option, and turn on the Auto-launch, Secondary launch, and Run in background options.
  6. Tap OK.

Note that you may see a message on your phone related to power consumption and apps scanning in the background. If you follow the steps in this message, the Fitbit app can’t run in the background and certain features may not work properly. Repeat the steps above to enable the Fitbit app to run in the background.

As for the Sense Controls, note that they might be listed as “Not Connected” in the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone. When you receive a phone call, the controls automatically reconnect. This feature requires more frequent charging. For more information, see How do I take-on wrist phone calls with my Fitbit smartwatch?

Hope that does the trick for you.

I am facing this issue "Notification service not running" constantly on my Android phone. I had tried force stop and clearing the data. It works temporarily through this solution but it is recurring problem. Please help with permanent solution.
