Notifications service not runnning

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Notification service on Sense stops running about every other day.

Every other day I delete the cache, reset everything correctly on the app, notification work for a day or 2 and then they stop running.

Can anything be done to prevent this from happening?

Are you referring to Sense Controls via bluetooth?  If so, I am having this same issue but it's occurring every few minutes, not days for me.  Very frustrating.

All notifications stop going to the watch, messgwes, calls, emails, etc

Im not sure how often it happens but I notice about every other day

I don't have to have Sense controls always paired to get and answer calls on my watch. In fact Sense controls is never connected unless a call comes through, then it'll show is connected under my Bluetooth symbol on my phone. Pixel 4 XL

Same for me.

One day everything seems to work fine, the next day i dont have any notifications, except for calls.

I tried everything but I can't see any pattern to explain this behaviour.

Any clue?

Only thing that worked for me was factory resetting the watch and signing into the Fitbit under a different email. Basically everything new. But all works fine for notifications. Auto time zone change still doesn't work right. Speaker volume is low for calls but other than that everything is working far as I know.

Same for me.

Phone: MI MAX 3, Tracker: Versa 3

Everything works fine, messages, notifications, calls can work nicely, but next day error message shows up. "Notification service not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker."

- restarts my phone, doesnt work

- restarts my tracker, doesnt work

- remove fitbit app from phone, re-download from google app store, re-install, re-configure, everything works well again. But same error message appears every other next day.

- Send a test call notification, can receive on tracker, takes the call, but error message shows up on tracker, saying there's an error, take call on phone.

Very apparent nothing wrong with phone and tracker, it's the app issue.

* and why i do not have permisson to upload images? *

Fitbit is massively disappointing.

I just called up Fitbit, they told me my phone MI MAX 3 is not fully compatible with the fitbit app. Some functions may not work fully.

Below you can find the link to which phone model is compatible and which is not.

Good luck to all of you. Time to dump fitbit.

@WillowJF notification services do not run on the Sense, they run on your not mentioned phone.

Can't really help until we know the phone model or at least what OS

It's Xiaomi's battery optimization that breaks notifications. To fix it go to settings type in "auto" and find auto start. Enable Fitbit to autostart, that should fix your issue (red banner on Fitbit notifications area should disappear). I also lock the Fitbit app to be extra sure it's running always.

Anyone with same issue none Xiaomi I would check a similar route.

@WillowJF That will be your problem then, Huawei is very aggressive with battery optimisation. It's likely killing the Fitbit app background processes. Just as @Foam advises for a previous poster, I too would recommend looking for options to disable battery optimisation for the Fitbit app.

You can start with opening the settings app on your phone - scroll down to and select "battery" - tap on "App launch" - scroll down to the Fitbit app - turn off the toggle (a window should open) - make sure all of these options are toggled "on". Now go to the app switcher (pressing the square button in the navigation bar) - swipe to the Fitbit app card - now swipe it down (a lock should appear on the top of the card). Hopefully you should be good to go. These instructions may vary a little bit but they should at least be fairly similar.

Let us know how you get on.
