On Wrist Outgoing Phone Calls

Not that phone calls are the main thing anymore with text messaging and email, but we still use the phone from time to time..lol I noticed that you can initiate a phone call with the Google Assistant which is cool, however it appears that you aren't able to use the watch speaker/mic for an outgoing call. Is this correct? I did setup the wrist calls as it's confirmed in the Fitbit App.

It's coming in the firmware update or did you mean you got the update and mic works only for incoming calls?

Only incoming calls possible with the wrist calls starting with OS 5.1?

Sense seems to handle phone calls only when answering directly at the wirst.

You could have a try to manually hand it over to the wrist using the phone. But that's for sure not your intention at all.

I'm assusing you would need google assistant to make outgoing call. I know the rollout is location based so some users don't have access to GA even tho they got the recent firmware update. Gotta wait and see I guess.

@Marrrmaduke both seems already given for user @sanman202 as he has written (wirst calls enabled and Google Assistant used). Seems that only incoming calls are supported, not outgoing calls. Hence my assumption for the workaround which is not really feasible if you wouldn't like to touch your phone at all.

@sancho90 I'm still waiting for my update but I would assume outgoing calls should be possible. Let me ask around.

@Marrrmaduke to me this behavior sounds like what have neen announced: Use the built-in mic and speaker to take Bluetooth® calls hands-free, send callers to voicemail and adjust volume. Available when phone is nearby.

Also the manual only talks about receiving calls. Even transfer a call to the wrist taken first at the phone seems not to be possible.

I fear that too, but honestly I would hope for outgoing calls support as well.

With an Android phone you are able to ask the Google Assistant to make a call but it will make the call on your phone. Still nice that it can initiate the call but it appears that's where it stops. With incoming calls when it shows up on your phone that's when there must be that it makes the Bluetooth connection. I would think the support for outgoing if not in this firmware update, then it may be possible in the next. Maybe there is a bug bug right now.
