Refund or not

Hi. I’ve been a Fitbit Customer since they first came to the UK with the Fitbit One. I’ve had nearly all their devices. But after the constant syncing issues and the inaccuracies of the stats I ditched em. (Went through three Ionics in the space of a year)

now with great trepidation i have ordered the sense. But I’m extremely worried after seeing all the negative reviews about it.

“Don’t believe any of the stats are accurate”

“advertised features not available”

“syncing issues” (still?!!!)

”sluggish”

”features don’t always work”

personally for me the biggest one is the constant reviews about stats not being accurate. NOT ONE! Wether it’s sleep, steps, or HR!

so my question to you guys. Should I return it or open it and use it?

I would check out the refund policy from wherever you bought it (as well as a credit card refund policy if that's how you purchased it) to determine that. I like my Sense now that I have a working one. Customer Service has been very helpful if there are any issues.

After reading the above, I am curious why you ordered one. If you believe that not one single stat is accurate, why would you want the watch?

Open it and use it.

if you go over to the dark side )Apple Watch community, you’ll see the same complaints.

I’ve had no issues with sync.

I believe there are many reasons why some people have problems and others do not.

wifi

App not installed properly

Phone integrity

worn properly

keeping back of device and charger cleam

watch face selection and battery usage

etc etc etc

I could go on and on.  Try it and if you like it keep it or return.

You’ll get many keep it and many return it replies.

To some degree it’s a matter of preference.

@Bauer24 if you ordered one then open and try it. I think you can still return it if it doesn't meet your requirements.

@SunsetRunner how quickly recorded activities sync to the app for you? Is it instant? I mean you finished tracking, open app and it's there? For me, syncing is hit and miss and usually I need to reboot the watch. Otherwise, I see message "Couldn't sync your Sense". I got used to such issues with previous Fitbit so no surprise here but I counted Fitbit finally got it sorted 😉 Apparently, not.

Mine usually takes 3-4 seconds and I’m watching the progress bar while it does it. I’ve had a handful of times in the last 3 months where it may take a little longer.  I have a lot of people here using electronics, 3 iPads, 3 computers, 3 iPhones. Ring doorbell and cameras, Comcast, smart watch’s. and my son is a gamer and is always in front of his command center. The first fix is clearing the website and history on my phone. I have a propensity to leave slot of items open in the background on my phone.

@SunsetRunner it does work sometimes but never right after activities. Sometimes I see that the last sync happened on the previous day. I tried everything known to Fitbit community (I owned Ionic before and went through the very same issues) and the only thing that seems to be working is rebooting the watch. The chance the next time the app will pick up the connection and sync the watch increases. No stress though - simply, if syncing will continue to be an issue I will return it. Just really hoped, those issues are old forgotten history.

Honestly? I actually promised myself never to go back to Fitbit ever again. But their community challenges are the best. (Although you can’t invite people after first invite on premium challenges). And I kinda thought Fitbit would have solved some of their biggest issues. But reading the comments on here is making me wonder... has Fitbit gotten to the stage now where it’s just about releasing a product. Not let’s fix our issues first then realise a new working product.

So, thought I’d give it a try. Took a good few attempts to connect to the WiFi (not sure why... I was right next to it). Update and install went great. Then opened the app - pulled down to sync. And can’t sync! Seriously!?!?

I'm glad you now have a working Sense. Can I just ask you how long it took for you to get yours replaced? I've got a faulty sense, the heart rate sensor stopped working. I so hope that I can write a positive review about my experience with the customer service from fitbit.

It took about a week to receive it in the mail. They shipped it the morning
after my talk with customer service.

Good luck!
