SPO2 oxygen no longer tracking

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a premium acct and everything else is working fine. But, about 3 weeks ago, my Sense stopped showing data for my nightly oxygen. I've tried every remedy, and obviously it's syncing as I can see all other metrics. Just no more SPO2.

Hi, @Hlawson828, welcome, this article may offer you a way forward How do I track blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) with my Fitbit device. If you are still stuck please post here again.

Cheers

First question would be whether it is showing on the watch an hour or so after you wake up. Ie is it a problem with syncing or a problem with actually getting a reading. My wife has issues like this and finds that regular power down, restart generally fixes it (but be prepared to wait a couple of days).

My watch goes through a power cycle fairly often. I don't think it's a syncing issue as all other functions sync perfectly. I can see all the premium health metrics. For whatever reason, just the O2 reading stopped working May 18th and hasn't worked since.

I really don't need an article telling me how to do it, when it's worked for a year then just stopped. Everything else works, so it's not a syncing issue or a user issue. Seems to be a watch issue. I just need advise on how to fix it, not understand what it is or how to interpret it.

I am also using Premium with a Sense. I haven't seen the SP02 in the app for four days after waking and syncing. And not showing hours or days later in app. But my Sense watch shows each day of the last week's SP02 on the watch when I swipe down on the Fitbit icon. Have you tried that? I don't know why mine won't sync to app though.

One thing that is very clear is that SPO2 sync happens completely independently of the other health metrics. It is slower to sync and if you live in Asia/Australasia, then it reports the time of sync 24hours out. (It doesnt seems to be adjusting for time zone, but others do). Still worth looking at Today on watch to see if it is getting a reading. If it never gets a reading, then going through whole uninstall SPO2 watchface, restart, add SPO2, restart, wait a day or two is probably worth it. It eventually worked for my wife. IMHO, SPO2 is another half-baked feature on Sense.

My app is now showing all the days. I did uninstall the clock face I was using and installed a different one. But I'm not sure if that was what affected it as I also deleted cache from the app on my Android phone and force stopped the app. I did this all about 7 hrs ago. I didn't get corrected info on syncing for several hrs.

Hi, @Hlawson828, thanks for your feedback, I put forward the article to provide you with the opportunity to review the limitations of the SP02 algorithm. There does not seem to be a widespread indication of system disruption so has anything changed in the last three weeks. Have you changed location (it's only available in certain countries?) Have you changed the clock face? (you need to be using an SP02 face) Have you started sleeping without the device on your wrist (you need to use it a full day and night -  and manually sync in the mornings - the result should appear in about an hour)

The device detects your SP02 values via the LED/sensor array on the back of your "Sense", it occurs to me there might be some reason this is not working. The most typical problem is debris on the sensors, I recommend cleaning with rubbing alcohol ad a cotton wool swab.

My own experience is the SP02 value is it is occasionally absent on the clock face in the morning. Still, within about an hour it appears and is integrated into the Health Metrics tile. If you continue to have a problem with this then I suggest you talk to "Customer Support" and use the Chat or phone for a prompt response.

Cheers

I’ve had the same problem. Not sure why this worked, but I changed to a new clock face today, and then changed back. Now my o2 is showing up in the app (first time since 6/22).

Thought the latest update might have finally included the fix for SpO2 but a little over a week since the last update and once again the SpO2 shows on the clock face but doesn't get synched to the app.  Been dealing with this for years including many posts here stating same.

This consistently works:

Shut down Sense, Go into Fitbit app and clear cache (To clear cache you may need to allow "storage" permission in the app to cause the "clear cache option" to become available), restart phone, restart sense, synch. And sometimes I have to add a step to restart phone and sync AGAIN to capture the days missed. Last step is always wait for it to happen again in a week or so. This has been an issue for years now and I've given up on them fixing it. and I am sick of going through these steps even though they work consistently.
