SPO2 spot check

Will we ever see a firmware update in order to carry out a SPO2 spot check at any time of the day? I am currently using a dedicated pulse oximetry device and hoped to carry out a quick spot check with the Sense whilst on the move.

I would also want to receive an alarm if the SPO2 levels falls below a preset value.

Normal SpO2 is usually at least 95%. Some patients with chronic lung disease or sleep apnea can have normal levels around 90%.

People with COVID-19 disease have been found with low oxygen levels even when they are feeling well. Low oxygen levels can be an early warning sign that medical intervention is needed.

I understand that the Sense is not a medical device but should be good enough to give an early warning sign in case of low oxygen level detected.

Really hope they will implant it in a fw in the near future v🤞 I'm thinking of getting a galaxy watch 3 instead.

Really nice if they could add this feature. Vote here to give Fitbit a push to add it: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Check-my-Sp02-pulse-ox-at-anytime-on-supported-F....

I ordered the sense because I have lung disease (Bi lateral PEs) and I thought I'd be able to track my oxygen levels and heart beat rate. It seems that it can't do either enough to be of any use unless someone can re-assure me. I shouldn't have believed all the hype in the promotional stuff. At the time of ordering, there was no useful practical experience of it. I should have learnt from my Ionic experience, when there were all sorts of problems with in the beginning. It broke not long after, so I've no idea whether they ever sorted it out. I thought that after 2 1/2 years, they'd have got their act together, but it looks like I'm doomed to disappointment. What's worse is that my Sense hasn't even come yet, and I have no idea what's going on with my order - no acknowledgement, no order tracking system, nothing.

Like the two above, I'm full of hope, but probably going to end up disappointed.

I'm sure there will be an app like that at some point. If not by fitbit, by someone else. The hardware is obviously there so all that has to be done is have the API exposed to apps to allow for it beyond just one watch face.

False advertising.   I specifically asked about these features before I purchased it

@Queenbearn Yes, you are 100% correct. False advertising and misleading information.

The same goes for not being able to store music tracks without costly subscription.

I should have read this forum first before buying the Sense. This was the last Fitbit for me!

@D8veh I fully understand your disappointment. Presently this device is not suitable for your condition. I can only advise to use a dedicated bluetooth pulse-oxo meter with the ability to transfer data.

I bought the Sense mainly because of the ECG function, temperature and SPO2 measurement, which I thought would be of value during the Covid-19 pandemic and my advanced age.

So far the darn SPO2 function works only at night and so does the temperature measurement. Not very useful when you are asleep and you expect to receive a buzz when something is getting wrong with you. I am not interested to see the next morning that I had a problem whilst asleep, you want to be alerted straight away. Bloody useless in my opinion! As you said, a lot of advertising hype for nothing and far from reality and practicality.
