I have just purchased a new Sense and looked to pair is to my Galaxy S4 GT-i9507 with no luck. Blue tooth sees the phone but will no pair and I get the following message .
Update the Fitbit App
Hey there! To set up Fitbit Sense,
make sure your Fitbit app is
updated and your phone is running
Android OS 7+. To learn more, see
our help article
The Fitbit app is version 3.4.2 which has just been downloaded from the Play store so I assume this is the latest. The phone is Android OS 5.0.1 and doesn't have any further updates.
So my question is, is there any way around the phone OS version for this combination of phone and Fitbit. I am hoping there is or I have a watch which is no good to me and or I need to get a new phone.
Thanks

Hi @mills63 if there had been a way to get the S4 to work, with System 5, I'd have figured it out. I have an old phone and tablet, but was unable to figure out a way to get either to work with the Fitbit app. The Fitbit app you download is the one for the phone you have, so you can't do much about it. You might want to get a newer phone. You can get unlocked new phones on Amazon. Two friends got Motorola phones and use Fitbits, but they don't have the Sense. Might be a good time. Sorry there isn't a better answer for you.

Th S4 uses an older version of Bluetooth to the Sense probably.
As an experiment wasn't able to get an original Versa to work on that older Fitbit App version / Android OS version either.
Have a look at the App "Find My Bluetooth Device" by VT-droid in the Play Store. |

@mills63 you say that you looked to pair to the phone. but Bluetooth can not find. This is not a problem. Your sense is a low energy Bluetooth device and you should not be able to pair to phone.
You need to do an add device, setting up the tracker to your Fitbit account. Once setup the Fitbit app will ask for permission to pair the Sense to your phone.
