If you are buying the Sense as a second device you should be aware that there may be an issue.
I just purchased the Fitbit Sense and I was getting ready to set it up but it wants to replace my Ionic. After some research I found a post that states "that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit App Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Charge 4, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, Fitbit Sense, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time."
I was not aware of this at the time of purchase and I often use a second device either when one is on a long charge or updating or as an actual second timing device when I referee soccer.
Is there a work around so I can switch out my Ionic and Sense easily or where both devices in situations stated above.

Sorry, but unfortunately, the only way you could use both is to actually "replace" the device each time you want to switch, making sure you sync just before the switch.
On the other hand, it should only take 12 minutes of charging to make up for a day's usage, meaning long charging sessions can be avoided.
Also as a soccer timing device, I would think either could be used stand-alone, without actually being attached as the current device.

This affects me too - I have always kept the old one when updating and that works for me when I am recharging. Now it won't let me add the Sense without removing Versa? Just daft in my view, makes me think I might just send it back, it isn't actually as good as they say anyway - very disappointing.

@laramax it seems that the restriction affects most of the newer models. Fitbit say:
"Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit App Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Charge 4, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, Fitbit Sense, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time."

Thank you but surely that is something FitBit could rectify? I have had FitBits for years now and usually leave the old one so that I can carry on whilst charging the battery. It is a real backward step from them.

I have been interested in this as well. I can sort of see why this limitation applies, and I suspect it dates back to the early days of the app, but as the Fitbit environment matures I think there will be more and more situations where users have two devices and would like to switch between them. I have a Versa 2 as well as the Sense and I would like to have the opportunity to switch between them easily. I think it might take some extensive re-writing of the phone app, but it would be worth doing. A suggestion for the suggestion box, perhaps?

Yup, it would be nice to be able to add a second device to the fitbit app. I wanted to add my Versa 1 with the Sense...no joy....let's see what fitbit does or will they even entertain this suggestion.

I had a Blaze and a Versa on the same account and would use the older Blaze at times when conditions were bad and saved the Versa (and the dress strap) for normal use. if I can't keep two watches, the Sense goes back.
