I find it annoying that a $400 watch comes with a 99 cent strap, Anyone else unhappy with it?

The Sense is $299.95 and I see nothing wrong with the strap. You can get inexpensive replacements on Amazon.

I'm getting used to it. I do find it more fiddly to put on than previous devices such as the Versa and Ionic. Poking the strap under is unusual and tends to pull at the hairs on my wrist making it momentarily uncomfortable.
First world problem I guess.
😀

The Sense is $299.95
Depends on the country and currency.
RRP (Recommended Retail Price) here in Australia is around AUD$448. Which translates to around US$335.
I'm happy with the AUD$270 (~USD$200) I paid with the discount offered when deactivating my Ionic.

I had an Ionic and was happy with it, but it was recalled. (I should have just ignored the recall.) The strap is junk and one side fell out the first day and the Sense fell into my freezer. Tucking the end of the band underneath is a nuisance. I do wonder if they have people test these things. I have other issues with the Sense, but that's for another thread.
