Sense Constantly disappears

I have a 2 week old Sense. I have to pair it alot. It's strange though. My sleep records and other things will work. BUT my phone bluetooth section will say it is not connected. (this morning though part of my sleep was not updated and then had to pair again but had to totally go to the beginning) But I do seem to have to repair alot. I have even gone to factory reboot a few times. I have done all the steps i keep seeing. Why does my sense keep dropping off like that. And god forbid I turn off my bluetooth if I am on a phone call that i don't want out loud. Then I have to totally re pair again. This morning after I repaired it it seems to be gone again and not saying connected.

All permissions granted and battery no restrictions also. Ap and phone updated also I have an android Samsung Galaxy s21+

One more question, as I stated before in my phone the list of connected devices does not always show the sense as connected but things work though. Is that a normal thing?

are you referring to sense controls not being connected? Sense controls are not supposed to stay connected.  Just like any other Bluetooth device they will connect when needed. Like if an incoming call hits the watch the sense controls will connect for the call then disconnect.

I saw that about the sense controls so no. The regular sense never says it is a connected device in the list. And i have had to remove and re ad it to my phone because it sometimes deletes itself somehow and then you get that error must use an app to use this device

The regular Sense, as most Bluetooth low energy devices should show under you phones Bluetooth as a trusted or paired device, The only way it can be un-paired from the phone is when the user removes the Sense. If the Sense is listed on your phones BT page, the Sense is paired or what android calls, trusted.

You should only see connected during the micro second communication. I have never seen connected, on this screen, for the Sense.

As for connected, let's look at the Sense itself, if the Sense and the phone has disconnected. When the display first turns on, you will see a phone icon with a slash through it. This icon soon fades.

When I turn the phones BT off I see this icon. After turning the BT back on, in about 5 seconds, this icon will not display, telling me the Sense is connected.

My question is, What is not happening?

Does the tracker sync?

Do you get notifications?

Can you respond, by voice, to notifications?

Can you receive and answer phone calls?

FYI: a user will not be able to directly pair, or re-pair their fitbit. Any attempt will be met with a message to use the app.

A user, through the fitbit app, connects their Sense to their fitbit account. Then the fitbit app manages the BT pairing and communication.

Therefore if the user removes the Sense from the phones Bluetooth, simply open the fitbit app. The app will ask for permission to pair the tracker. (Sometimes this is all that is needed to fix a non-sync issue)

What I am saying is if i go in to my phones settings then bluetooth settings. I see a list of things. And sometimes it is in the list of paired devices and sometimes not. And sometimes when I do the repairing when it asks me to in the app it says it is paired in the fitbit app but then if i go to my bluetooth it is not in the list of paired devices. Its strange because most times even though it is not in the list of paired devices i still get my calls and messages and notifications to my watch.

But I do notice sometimes that It does seem to unpair itself.

Your fitbit app, manages the Bluetooth connection, unless their is a sync issue, there is absolutely no reason to open your phones Bluetooth and check if the Sense is listed. The only step a user can do, through the phones Bluetooth is to remove or un-pair the Sense.

I'll repeat my question. What is it that is not working correctly?

ahh ok so i don't even need to look there. ok great thanks. Like i said. it seems to unpair itself sometimes. The other day i had to turn off the bluetooth so a call wouldn't come over the car speaker. When i turned on bluetooth the fitbit literally would not connect. I ended up have to do a factory reset. It's been fine since then though. But now I understand what you said though. But I do not see the device anywhere saying it is a trusted device.

i see why i confused you. The device doesn't need to show as a connected device. It just needs to show as a paired device.

Thank you
