So I used my Sense to track an inline skating session: used walking one way and running on the reverse. I also started my Google Fit app: I know it's a little over 10miles RT but the watch was way off, pegging it at 3.6 and 3.3! Fit got it right at a little over 10 miles RT. That seems to be a huge difference...any ideas why other than the GPS on the Sense isn't that good?

Yes. For sessions like walking and running (but not for example biking) Fitbit doesn't use GPS to measure distance rather an obscure algorithm that users found out it's primarily using steps to estimate the distance. The reason? No idea. Fitbit moderators are always answering reading a scripted reply that says GPS is used when available but it's not the truth. And your experience is a clear smoking gun.
Bottom line: try to use Biking for your inline skating sessions and you will see that the distance will be much more precise.

I'm usung my own calculations for distance and speed. And it uses only gps.
I think it's quite accurate. (If not, please tell me)
Beware: the distance of my app is never exactly the same as on fitbit, but so is runkeeper, strava and google
I never had such great difference as you have.
