Sense Issues - Timer App has Started Showing Nonsense Alphanumeric Strings and Exercise App Crashes

I have two issues with my Sense that started at the same time, just in the past few days.

The first issue is that when I go into the timer app instead of the labels that used to be there I now see strings such as "~66095888" and "~206DD0FC" and "~411FB114" and "~57403da8". I'm able to start the timer, it just looks really strange, and if I needed something other than the timer function I usually use, I'm not sure what I would tap.

The second issue is that I can open the exercise app, and I can select the exercise I am starting, but after the initial 3 second count down the exercise app quite and I goes back to the clock face.

For both these issues I have made sure that neither the Fitbit app on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra needs update or that the app tells me I need to update the firmware. I have done a shut down on the Sense by both going to shut down in the settings and holding the sense on the sides until the Sense shut down, and then restarted.

Both worked fine as of 5 days ago. The first instance of the timer showing the alphanumeric strings for me was yesterday, and the exercise app wouldn't work for the first time today.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I also just noticed that in the app I have two weight lifting exercise periods recorded today (one of the exercises I was trying to record), one that was five minutes long at the time I first tried to start recording, and the second one starting a little over an hour later that was recorded as 5 hours and 42 minutes long. Neither is correct, and the Sense never showed that it started recording the exercise. I also have a 20 minute long auto record of elliptical, which I tried to start manually and couldn't, but the auto start shows that it started when I started my elliptical exercise, but was 20 minutes instead of the 10 I actually did.

Hi @Cbstarr - there seems to a watch OS corruption which requires a factory reset to resolve.

But beware a factory reset isn't without risk and can possibly be done via watch settings, About Sense menu or via the button, if necessary.

Once started leave the watch for 5 minutes to give it time to complete then set it up again in the Fitbit App, if you can and choose replace.

Even so It is a good idea to make a note of the names of any clocks or apps and any special watch or app settings you use before the reset or replacement under warranty if necessary.
