Sense - Screen Wake stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Settings: Motion & button is on; rebooted, shutdown and neither worked… only change was original Fitbit band broke, replaced with 3rd party band (shouldn’t impact function).

please advise!

Check Screen Wake on and Sleep Mode off; in Quick Settings.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thanks, but couldn't find the setting worded like that - maybe in the wrong place... on the Sense, ! swiped left, scrolled to the Settings icon and checked Quiet Modes which has Do not Disturb and Sleep Mode and both are off...  must be a setting because the only way I can see the display now is to press the side button... thanks again!

@dgreene99   You swipe to the right to get to the Quick Settings.  There are six icons in two rows.  The bottom center icon is for the automatic screen wake. It should be bright blue.  Tap it if it is grey.  Sleep Mode is the moon icon.  Tap it if it is blue.  The touch screen is very sensitive.  It's surprisingly easy to make changes without knowing it, especially when wearing long sleeves.

If you ever need more help navigating your Sense, please try the following.  Tap on your profile picture on your mobile app, then your Sense tile.  The is a bright pink How To Use option.  It is extremely useful.  There is a Quick Setting link with an animation.

@dgreene99 Your quick settings should look something like this. The only thing on is the bottom middle "Automatic" which is for the raise to wake the screen.

Thanks ZLeeW and all... everything is set as indicated and still not working... may be time to refer to support...

Let's be sure we understand.  Originally you said "wrist motion stopped working".  We have been assuming you meant the screen display does not come on when you lift and turn your wrist.  Is that what you meant?

If so, does display come on when you touch side button?

I think that's the case. He did say "the only way I can see the display now is to press the side button"

@eezeepee  You're right.  I didn't re-read all the posts before that.

Thanks all... contacted support and we did a complete reset, but still doesn't work.  So nothing in the setup was incorrect.

Also found out per the tech that Fitbit requires returning the defective device before they send a new one even under warranty... I've been a Fitbit user since they came out and that hasn't been my experience in the past... the watch still partially works - escalating to support management to see if can be waived.

I find that my Sense is sporadically re-setting the Wake function from “Motion and Button” to “Button Only”…
