Sense Sleep and Temp Not Working - Opened May 16 2021

I have tried every option available on the Fitbit community and cannot get my new sense to log sleep and temp data reliably. If I reset to factory default it records one night of sleep data and then stops working. So I know I am setting up the device correctly to log sleep and temp data, And also have the latest software installed (app and device).

 

I have had the device 2 weeks now and am preparing to return it as defective and give a review score of 1. For $300 it should work out of the box and not require a lot of ttroubleshooting. I see in the community that this has been a common issue for over 2 years with nearly all Fitbit devices. I dont plan on waiting that long for a fix. I found a cheap Chinese device that does the same thing (except ECG) and every feature works and syncs to Google Fit.

 

Very disappointed in fitbit's quality. I tried to use the Fitbit Support page link but get 404 page not found error so the Fitbit website also has quality issues.

case number is 40955664 -- I was told this is a know defect that tracking for Sleep, Temperature, and spO2 do not work with the sense with the current android app and device firmware. I have noticed that the settings options for sleep in the fitbit.com interface are some times different or missing in the android app. Sleep Sensitivity is missing in the android app v3.41.2 (20243568).

 

I used the fitbit.com setttings page to change sleep sensitivity to "sensitive" and did a sync from the android app. Will see if this makes a difference.

I had similar issues sleep score and most health metric data randomly stopped working 6 weeks ago. It’s just started randomly to work last 3 days. I’m very happy as I was very disappointed too. Fingers crossed BUT I use an iPad not Android! 🤔

Latest software update did not resolve any of the issues for case number 40955664 😞 Very disappointed in Fitbit quality. Returning device to REI.

My Sense has no problems with tracking sleep and temperature with my Android phone (ver. 3.43).  Did you get a replacement device?  Also do you have the SpO2 Tracker app installed?

I will install 3.43 app. I have 3.42.1 and android update says I have the latest version even though the newer 3.43 is in the app store.

@ScottHahnMN, the app has been tracking all that meta data for a long while now with way earlier versions of the app.  I think you might have a defective Sense.

Ill get a replacement at REI ... if that dont work its goin back and Ill switch to a samsung.

I got a replacement Sense and hae he latest 3.43 android app. SpO2 does not work at all (slept 8+ hrs last night with nothing recorded for spo2). The sleep feature only recorded 1.5 hrs of total sleep so that is also wrong. I'll give it a few more days and if not working I;ll order a garmin or samsung device.
