since end of October 2023 the step counter has not been accurate, On days where I am doing minimal walking the step counter is reflecting excessive (17,994 yesterday when I would have been lucky to have completed 5k, 14,038 the day before, and the day before 17,160). I contacted the help desk and there solutions of turning on and off are not working. I have turned off all the auto start exercise features and that hasn’t helped either. I am doing some house renovations including painting and sanding and maybe the Fitbit is incorrectly picking up my hand movements. Anyone got any ideas of how to correct this?

@GizzieX , A warm welcome to the Community ! Thank you for your message and for taking the time to contact Support.
Please make sure that you don have MobileTrack activated. This feature uses the sensors on your mobile device to count steps. This is thought to be used should you have left your Fitbit at home ( eg. while charging).
In the Fitbit app, tap on your devices icon (upper left corner).
You'll see the devices paired to your account.
If you see the option for mobile device active, tap on it and remove it.
