Sense automatically adding weight to app and it’s 40 lbs less

Hi everyone,

Love my Sense except for one really annoying thing. The Sense is “reading” or “sensing” my weight and adding it to my Fitbit app. It takes several readings a day, and it’s about 40 lbs too low. It’s done this from the beginning and I even did a factory reset because I moved to a different country and the watch wouldn’t change time zones.
How can I disable this? I hate seeing my goals and progress being completely wrong and having to manually delete about 20 readings every two-three days. Thanks for your help!

Hi, @guiness, welcome to the community, I'm not aware of any function in your "Sense" that can read or sense and record your weight. Do you have Aria scales nearby? Perhaps you could post a screenshot of the measurement so we can more clearly understand your problem.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. I just deleted all the entries yesterday so I think I need to wait a few days for it to happen again. That way I can take a screenshot and show you. Have a good day!

Here is a screenshot from yesterday. My log from 8/2 is manual, but everything from yesterday and today was not uploaded by me. 🤷🏼‍:female_sign: And it’s also annoying to have 6 entries for every day. Any help is appreciated!

Hi, @guiness these entries are very mystifying, they are not manual, they must be coming from somewhere. Check your account in your app (today>touch your icon in the top left corner) there will be a "sense" tile saying when it was last synced and the battery level. Are there any other devices linked (apart from your scales) to your Fitbit app (there would be a tile next to the "Sense" tile with details) If there is another tile (not your scales) >touch the tile and delete it. Is anyone else using your scales? Do you move your scales after use? Allowing your "Sense" was new and did not have a previous user and no other devices are linked to your account I think your best way forward is to talk to "Customer Support" here, use the chat facility and send them the screenshot above with your explanation.

I'm not sure what the green stars mean or if you can swipe these ghost entries for more information (the little chevron does not appear in my Android app)

I hope this helps but I suspect not much.

Cheers

I had to delete the weight tracking from the app, no other way to fix it. It’s annoying. I’m surprised they recommended another app to use and not a real solution. Disappointed!

Hi, @guiness, As far as I know, you have to enter your weight manually if you are not using Fitbit scales linked to your account. I think your best way forward is to talk to Fitbit Customer Support using the link I gave you earlier.

I did contact customer support and screen shot their responses. I had to delete the weight tracking tile from the app which means I have no way to track my weight through Fitbit. I was told to use weight watchers instead which I find annoying. In short, there is no real solution to this problem, just delete weight tracking and download another app.
