Sense barometric calculation seems off

During my bike ride this morning my sense shows a 330m elevation where my ionic used to show 24m, also my floors climbed have been off for months. Is there any solution for this? I checked my stride length is correct.

Hi @Marvin23 - there is no solution for the floor count issue. Not worth spending time on it. It's not a watch problem so changing it won't help.

Is it a recent update issue? I had a fitbit for years and averaged 10-15 floors for the last 2 years and all of a sudden average 40 on my sense, feels to me the ionic was fine but maybe the software got bugged if your saying theres no fix even with a swap?

@Marvin23- it's only the Sense and Versa 3 that has the floors problem, introduced last summer with a firmware update. Have a look at the many posts in the forums.

@Marvin23 are you looking at the GPS data of your bike ride?

The barometer is designed to measure the elavation gain while walking up stairs, while in a wind free environment.. Also there is a time limit to the 10 feet change in elevation.. Also stairs will not be added when there is no detection of stepping, and the vibrations of the handlebar seems to be detected as steps.

While on a bike, this data really is useless.

Why? Because it looks at changes in air pressure, which is affected by the air flowing around your arm. When the wind hits the tracker directly, there will be an increase in air pressure. Now rotate the arm so the tracker is on the leward side, and the air pressure is greatly, and sundenly reduced resulting in many added steps.

Yes there are many things that affect this barometer, however it is still the cheapest, and least power hog availible.
