Sense battery drains quickly

After the issues with the Ionic I was able to choose a Sense as a replacement which I received around March last year. As with the Ionic, the battery would last about 5 days. However, of late I fully charge prior to going to sleep, but then wake up with battery percentage in the 50s. The next morning it’ll be less then 20%.

I don’t have always on screen enabled, screen brightness is medium and I don’t have excessive notifications coming through. The quick draining battery seems to have been a result of the latest update I performed some months back but has worsened with time. Current version is 128.6.17. Any suggestions on why this might be happening and a fix would be appreciated.

Hey @StevR4,

I reached out to Fitbit via chat on their support page and was advised I turn off snore detection. As this isn’t something I really check I ended up giving it a go. That night the battery only decreased by 10%.

To disable snore detection open the Fitbit app, tap the Sleep tile and then the gear icon at the upper right corner. Toggle off Detect Snoring.

I hope this can also help in your case.

Hi @Ditch7569  - here are the main drainers How to resolve the Major issues causing short battery life

However water getting in can change the watch battery to drain more rapidly all of a sudden. If that is the case get it replaced under warranty.

If the battery lasts less than 2 days with all features enabled there is something wrong.

I have exactly the same problem having acquired my Sense in the same way. I would welcome an answer. There has been no change in the apps that I use or even the general way that I use the watch. It has not been anywhere near any water. A solution would be very welcome

Please ignore the fact that I clicked on the "Worked for me" button by mistake ☹️. So far, I have no evidence that it has. I am using the iOS app which doesn't have the "Detect Snoring" option. Instead, it has a "Normal" or "Sensitive" setting for sound monitoring when asleep and I guess this is the same thing. It was already switch to "Norrmal".

I find it rather strange that we both had our Ioniq's replaced with Sense watches (just under a year ago for me) and this battery problem has occured on both watches on more or less the same day.

Hey @StevR4

I agree that it is strange that our situation is fairly similar.

I’ve just realised that the snore detection is a premium feature so this may explain why you don’t see it.

what I’d advise is going to help.Fitbit.com and selecting the chat option. The agents are responsive and have insight into your synced data that may offer some solutions specific to your case. Prepare details of your issue and mention your country of residence to help them provide an targeted response more quickly.

as @Guy_ mentioned, 2 day battery life is not normal. If your not using premium features and can standard settings selected than it may fall under a warranty case in order to get your battery replaced.

I wish you the best of luck in finding a resolution that works for you. Please do let me know the outcome, if you remember 🙂

Thanks @Ditch7569

I don't have a Premium subscription so that would explain it. I am not sure what I have done but my Sense seems to be draining power at a more normal rate today. However, I will have an online chat with Fitbit.

Hi @Ditch7569 . I chatted with Fitbit support just now (you were right, they are very responsive) and they are going to replace my Sense under warranty. All in all, a good result 😊
