Sense battery life problem after last firmware update

ANSWERED

In mid-February, I had to install an enforced firmware update (the Fitbit Sense would not operate normally until I had done so). Since then, the battery life has suddenly gone from a 3-5 day life between charges, depending on how much exercise tracking I did, to now losing 80% of its charge in a day, even if it is just sitting on my wrist otherwise unused all day. I have checked that all lowest energy options are still activated post-update (they are). Any ideas welcomed please on what has happened and what I can try. It’s a pretty impractical expensive device now if I have to charge it every day.

Thanks for that reply. It’s helpful to know. Confirms me in my view that
this is the last Fitbit I will own. The Sense has been a bit of a disaster,
especially since Google took over.

There is probably nothing you can do or try. That update was targeted specifically for certain batteries, that might be defective. The update limits the amount of charge the battery can hold, to prevent overheating. Your battery has a much lower capacity now, unfortunately.

Same. I'm really pissed at Google right now. Thanks G for fixing and issue I didn't have and ruining my expensive Sense that worked perfectly before your forced Firmware update. I no longer trust them. More than 10 years with Fitbit and Google pulls this. I don't even believe why they did it. I bet it's a lie

The only option I have been given is $50 toward the purchase of a new Fitbit which the Sense 2 is about $250.  I’ve had a Fitbit for over 10 years and this just hits me wrong.  I didn’t have trouble with my battery prior to the update that I was forced to do. I didn’t ruin my Sense, the update did.  Now all I get is $50 or I have to charge it every 3 days?! Seems to me that the company screwed it up and it’s their responsibility to replace it without charging me. Do I need to look else where for a tracker?!  I love Fitbit, but this may be the end for me.😡
