Sense battery life

I can’t get my sense to last even 2 days on a charge even though I have turned off all gps, WiFi, and don’t have the always on display on. The long battery life was one of the biggest selling points for me as I could charge my ionic every 5 or so days and that was great. I don’t want to have a busy day and not be able to charge it and miss out on sleep data because it dies.

Maybe you’re on to something. I too use an iPhone.  Is that the reason why me and other users here are only getting 2 days from the Sense with all functions off to save battery life?

Folks,

I'm the OP for this thread and an early adopter of the Sense.  This is the only thread that still pops up with replies. It pains me that this is still a persistent issue.  I switched to another watch a while ago and couldn't be happier.  My Sense sits in a drawer.  I can't give the thing away.  It's obvious that this issue will not be resolved.  There are plenty of other watches that are better than the Sense.  Outside of the Apple Watch, most others look like watches and are marketed towards athletes, but the software does what the Sense does.  The truth is that many of the watches do it even better.  Here's a couple of links from a respected reviewer.

Because I'm over the battery life issues and Apple's battery is no better than Fitbit's, I went with the Garmin Fenix 6x Solar.  It's chunky and does way more than I need (I'm not jumping out of planes any time soon), but it does everything that Sense does but better and more accurately.

I wish you luck with your next purchase.

The side button on the Sense unfortunately is the worst thing about the watch for a number of reasons. The main reason why I don’t like it because my wrist will press it constantly. And it doesn’t have to be on the side. It can be pressured to be pressed by your wrist underneath the watch itself. This wastes battery and is in my opinion the main reason why people complain about the battery life. To put it in perspective, during the day, when watching myself to keep this from happening, under normal use, the Sense uses about 10% battery life. At night, over 8 hours, it uses 25% due to my arm and wrist pressing the watch. Night mode doesn’t help, because the watch can’t ever be set to turn off this button.  My question for Fitbit; can we please have a true night mode where the button cannot be activated?

This is an issue for me too... I reported it to Fitbit and they sent me a new one, but I am now having the same issue with the new one.

Mine goes to Pay mode all the time because that’s what my long press is setup to do. However, I’ve turned off everything else and am trying to adjust my sleep to where I don’t rest on the watch and am seeing improvement. I hope that will take care of it, but a true fix from Fitbit would be better. I mean, if I’m asleep, no button should work.

So I don't have a time yet but yesterday I turned off the detect snoring and so far I am getting much better battery life. Just an example usually after charging and putting on the watch before bed at 8 am and the when i wake up at 5:25am i am about about 60%. I turner off the snore feature yesterday at 60% around 8 AM and today at 8:30am i am at 48% when normally i would be at about 20%. hope this helps some people.

Is there a specific clock face you would suggest to get max battery life? I am fine with using any that shows a digital clock, date, and step count.

@DipenThakkarI can get 4 whole days with these settings no matter the watch face. I also don't use ones with animations:

Brightness dim, screen wake motion and button, always-on display off, snore & noise detection off, SpO2 on.

My current favorite one is is "Filler"

It looks great in always-on, each number gets "filled" towards your goal, and you can tap to show the specific numbers your at. It is $1.50 though.

I'm using this clock face and get 5 to 6 days per charge. The clockface is Clean Stats by Hanseware

Hi Jerry I’m on my second sense they changed the first 1 for me but I’m having the same issues, I think it’s a problem in all the sense fit bit by the looks of this forum, very annoying as the versa lasts way longer and is much cheaper

@Brockmann

I’m been getting 20% battery usage every 24hrs since 11/3/20. Currently using SimpleClockPro.  If I initiate snore report, I’ll loose 20% charge overnight.
It’s not happening to everyone. I think it’s based on usage of features and service environment.

What a mess my battery last 20 hours with screen locked. I wrote to fitbit saying that they must  replace my watch or  make it clear the advertised 4 days long lasting battery.

I figured out something that was causing my fitbit sense to lose something like 50% charge every 12 hours.  I had recently reconfigured the security on my wifi router that caused the the fitbit to no longer connect to my network.  I finally had to remove the network in the wifi settings on the fitbit phone app, and then re-add it, and then it connected fine after that.  So, perhaps the battery drain was caused by constantly trying to connect to wifi unsuccessfully, and/or, it was using only Bluetooth to sync with my phone, which maybe uses a lot of power.  Now, after fixing the network connection, I seem to only go down about 13% in a 24hr period!!

😊
