Sense battery life

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I can’t get my sense to last even 2 days on a charge even though I have turned off all gps, WiFi, and don’t have the always on display on. The long battery life was one of the biggest selling points for me as I could charge my ionic every 5 or so days and that was great. I don’t want to have a busy day and not be able to charge it and miss out on sleep data because it dies.

Update on Sense battery life.

I completely shut my sense down and restarted it and the batter life seemed to go back to it's proper battery life.

Ditto. I came here to the user forum in search of answers and others experience. I just bought this and I’m ready to return. My Versa wasn’t the best battery life but it was much a better than the Sense.

I have been making note of how long the battery lasts and how long it is taking to charge my Fitbit Sense which is about 1 1/2 months old. I have turned off just about everything, I only use it for time, date and steps/excersize, heart rate, sleep. I am also using the GPS. Payments, notifications, phone & music options are turned off. I am using the watch face called "Clean Stats" by Hanseware. I have tried to get it down to as basic a settings as I can to conserve battery life. I do not turn the watch off unless I need to do an update. The SPO2 has never worked on this watch and I don 't know why, it did on my Iconic.

I am using the USB3 port on my computer or I use a 1 Amp USB wall plug also. I have found as I did on my Iconic that 2.1 amps causes a lot of issues. As of today my last full charge to 100% lasted 6 days. The charge time today was from 18% battery to 100% which took 1 1/2 hours using my USB3 computer port. I am having like charge times using the 1 AMP USB wall plug. What I have found is this has been about the average battery life and time to charge since I got the watch. I see others having battery issues so I just wanted to post what I am getting in terms of battery life and charge times and how my watch is set up to see if that might help you.

Basically I have found that the Sense battery life lasts about 1 1/2 days longer than the Iconic and charges about 1 hour faster at 1 AMP or via USB 3

I am still bewildered as to pop up that claims that the watch can charge faster by using another outlet. Fitbit has given no direction regarding what the power requirements are for fast charging? Can someone from Fitbit please give some info/power requirements for a USB plug on this mysterious pop-up?

Very helpful. Sort of like a baseline for comparison.

Is it possible to change *just* the Always On Display clock face rather than the normal clock face? To be able to use a minimalist AOD face and save battery.

Does anyone know the technology of the Sense as to why AOD drains so much battery? It should not be taking a 66% battery hit as people are reporting. My old Surge had a dim AOD which was perfectly fine (and was exactly what I wanted) and still managed 5-6 day battery life.

The only clock faces I've found in the store that are "minimalist" for the AOD face unfortunately break usage of my Sense for everything else as they're not compatible with Sense. I'm happy with the built-in UI faces but just want to change the AOD face to something even more simplified.

Adding this weeks charging times. Last charge was on December 25th 2020.

I had to charge the watch last night, it was at 22% and it took 1 1/2 hours to do a complete charge.

At this point I believe using a 1 amp USB wall plug charge works the best as well as USB via PC. I believe that charging over 1 amp cause issues as it did with my Iconic.

I had better battery life on my versa 2. Two days and I just noticed today I was at 22%.  I just turned location 'while using' and turned bluetooth off besides the other things that I had already disabled.

As I mentioned above I have found that a 1 amp USB wall charger seems to work the best. I've found anything above 1 amp causes strange battery behavior. Do you happen to know what amperage you are charging at? Also what watch face as some of the watch faces are battery intensive.

This watch sucks for the amount of money it costs. I charged it fully and went to bed and it was dead in the morning. It disconnects from bluetooth. The battery sucks so bad if I did use I’d have to charge it twice during the day. It’s ridiculous everyone talking about turning off apps and not using certain apps it defeats the purpose of even having the apps. I had the surge I’ve had a charge and I had a versa out of all the versa had the best battery life. I am done with fitbit right now there saying it’s a OS update issue and there working on it. I can’t use the watch because it doesn’t even last 6 hours. I can’t get a new one because they said it’s a fitbit app issue. I can’t get my money back because “it’s outside the 45 days”. There still selling the watch without any notification to new buyers that there is a defect and it doesn’t work with iPhone users. Worst of all there’s no one controlling people from getting ripped off.  I don’t know about you but I’m done with it.

I love my Sense but I agree i have never even come close to 5 days.  I think the best i have come up with is around 4.5 days with everything turned on.

Is Fitbit going to reply to this? How many people have returned their Fitbit Versa? I charged mine to 100% 16 hours ago and I am now at 65%. I am now having to charge every 2 days or it dies.

good for you Matt, but you’re clearly not reading the others users saying that they’re doing all the things you claim make the Sense last 6 days, it’s not happening. There’s a definite problem. It could be some of these devices have bad batteries, or a firmware that is draining the battery faster than yours. Please don’t post here dismissing the issue just because you don’t have it. We need Fitbit to fix the problem.

Mine came out of the box with 46% battery. Maybe the battery is bad, since yours came almost fully charged.

Same here.

Liszt please do not dismiss this issue. It is a real issue. I’ve used Fitbit for 4 years and just got a Sense going for 6 days between charging. I’ve turned off everything that runs in the background. I’m only getting 2 full days and charging on the 3rd. I am removing all the apps, even turning off the weather app. I don’t know what else to do.

I’m using the clock that came installed with the watch. Are you saying we need to use a different clock face for better battery life?  If so can you please provide names?

Best Answer

Same here. I can’t believe Fitbit is not taking this seriously. They come on here saying turn everything off. Everything IS off. Still 2 days of battery life.
