Sense distance goal different on watch from app

I just got a Sense for my birthday and the distance goal in the app is 4 miles (I'm vertically challenged; it takes more like 2,700 steps to get to a mile), but on my watch, it's 6.44 miles. 

 

How do I reconcile this?

4 miles = 6.44 km

Unfortunately Fitbit gets units confused on distance goals.  This has been reported a long time ago.

Apparently just have to live with it.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
