Sense doesn't always show text and call notifications

The Sense seems to either lag in displaying texts and phone calls or maybe will not show then at all. I've experienced both. I upgraded from the Versa 2 and all this worked.  The Sense seems to work periodically. Anyone have any tips or solutions?

Hi @techcop. I'm glad to see you here again.

Thanks for letting that your text and call notifications aren't always displayed on your Sense screen. I understand this didn't happen with your Versa 2 and I'll give you a hand on this matter. So I can further investigate on my end, please provide me with the following information:

  • May I know the model and OS/software version of your phone?
  • Have you made sure to have the Fitbit app updated?
  • Have you noticed the same issue with other type of notifications, such as calendar or apps?
  • Also, do you feel a vibration when receiving the notification, even though it's not displayed on your watch?

I'll look forward to your reply.

I have this same problem. I just got my sense a couple days ago. It has never given me a notification of a text or phone call. I have a samsung Galaxy S9 with Android 10. My fitbit updated when I started it up, a couple days ago.

Hi there. I'm having the same problem. I cannot get any notifications on my sense. I get call notifications but not messages or calendar. Any advice?

I fixed it, I had to: Open the fitbit mobile app on my phone, touch "sense" for my device, scroll down to "general" there you see notifications, as the first option. touch notifications. this is where you can enable the notifications from your phone

New problem, I have the notifications, but they disappear before I can see them. My responses aren't being sent either. I tried to send an emoji thing to my husband, he never received it

I’m about ready to take this darn thing back. I love the Fitbit fitness options, but in addition to the lack of text notifications, I’m also not getting the promised ECG or temperature checks. There also doesn’t seem to be a way to go back a screen? I expected a whole lot better for $330!

After over the past week making my way to page 17 on this forum and seeing all the issues consumers are having with the Sense - I am soooo glad I did not get my Sense until mid December 2020, it came with version 44.whatever -whatever. Maybe the batch my Sense came from was manufactured on a Wednesday after lunch at the Fitbit factory or maybe I am just not putting my Sense through the paces others are.

One can only hope that all continues to go rather well here.

Thanks for this post!  I had been searching for hours (literally) to find a way to get my text notifications.  Your post corrected the issue! Thanks for making today a little less stressful!

I have the notification options turned on in the app on my Galaxy S9 for my Sense watch. I get the message notifications but not the phone ones. Very frustrating.

Hi everyone! I know this post is a little dated, but I just found the solution of my specific situation, and decided to share it, in case it could help someone else, since every recommendation I found here and in related threads did not fix my problem - my Sense wouldn't vibrate upon incoming calls, nor show the missed calls in the notifications section.

I just discovered the culprit of my problem - my baby nephew.

My Sense had the "Do not disturb" icon ON. 😑

Located on the Sense Settings screen, after swiping right from the main screen. Upon "fixing" this, my Sense vibrates with phone calls, and it shows missed calls in the Notifications screen again.

Just make sure your Sense's DND button is not activated. I hope this helps someone. :sun_with_face:

(Every time I hold my baby nephew, he can't help touching the Sense's screen to see the different colors.  It appears that one of those times, he touched too many buttons and ended up changing my settings - I had no idea 🙈)
