Sense false activity detection

My Sense watch seems to falsely detect an exercise activity even when I am just seated at a desk. Many times, when I casually check the time, Sense will tell me it has been tracking my "walk" for the past hour! It also keeps trying to connect to GPS all that while which I'm sure drains the battery. Anyone else run into this? I'm going to disable automatic activity detection to see if that works.
