Sense functionality for South African users

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
I am posting to the community on the advice of a Fitbit staff member I had a live chat with. I will definitely be in contact with my local bank, Capitec, to get them on board with Fitbit Pay.

Considering the price, I would have preferred Fitbit to hold back on launching in South Africa until government approval of the ECG function. When do you guys think this will happen?

Also. I have read that people are struggling with getting replacement parts and general repair/replacement/ after-sales support in South Africa. Do you have a dedicated facility set up here in SA?

I just want to weigh the pros and cons before I make an investment.

Hi @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for your interest in the Sense and let me help you with each of your questions. In regards to the Fitbit Pay, even though the Capitec Bank isn't included in the list of supported banks, I'd encourage you to contact your bank in a private communication or on social media and tell them that you want to use Fitbit Pay to make payments from your Fitbit device. Additionally, you can post this idea in the Feature Suggestions board so it can be taken into consideration for new updates or product development. Please note that it's up to your bank to decide if they want to support Fitbit Pay.

I appreciate you for taking the time to share your feedback about the ECG app. Our team continues working to improve the experience with the Sense, and your input is a big part of that process. At this moment, my best advice is to keep an eye to the ECG page and the Press Release for future updates about this or any other feature that is implemented in our Fitbit devices.

Lastly, please know that all our Fitbit products are covered by our warranty as long as it was purchased from our official Fitbit website or an authorized retailer. While we don't have a physical store or place where you can take your watch to fix it, you can always get in touch with our Support team so they can evaluate your case and determine the best solution. You can find more details in our Warranty Policy.

See you around.
