Sense heart rate LEDs flickering when off wrist

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So when I take the Sense off my wrist, the LEDs on the heart rate sensor will continue to flicker almost indefinitely.  If I rest it upside down on a table, the lights stop flickering, but if I rest it on its side, the lights will continuously flicker and even start to spit out random HR readings.  If I hold the watch, not even touching the sensor, the lights flicker and even spit out readings.  I've already factory reset, same thing.  Previous watches did a good job of not activating unless you interacted with the sensor.

Is this normal? Does anyone elses do this? How does yours behave?

I've noticed the same thing. What I found is that if rest the Sense on its side on a light surface then the lights stay on but if I rest it on a dark surface the lights go off as they should. I don't currently wear my watch at night and have a piece of black card on my bedside table for just this reason.

I would recommend you place the sense face/glass down and then the heart rate sensor stops after a couple of seconds. I place mine on something soft so there is no risk of scratching the glass.

hope this helps
