I used my 2 yo Fitbit sense in swimming pool last weekend. After that I have seen that my watch is active weird. The touch screen was not reacting at all for few days. Then I kept on restarting the device. Somehow now touch screen is working but I’m seeing that the watch dies exactly at 3 AM. Sounds spooky right?? Lol!! I charge the watch every morning to 100% but it dies the same night. Don’t know if anybody over come the same issue.

Hi there, @spicecourt. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Sense. @Guy_ Thanks for the information you've shared.

If your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.

If you've done the above but to no avail, please try restarting your Sense. For instructions, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the restart doesn't work either and your watch hasn't vibrated for the restart process, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

Hi @spicecourt - unfortunately those are typical symptoms of water getting inside, despite it supposedly being waterproof.

Some watches don't have robust seals which deteriorate over time.

Don't be tempted by the more expensive recent Fitbits which don't have all the features of the Sense.

My Sense simply quit after getting into the pool water. I followed all of the directions posted here and by the support agent, but the Sense will still not charge or turn on. It is barely a year old and I use it daily. This is my 4th Fitbit and I sadly seem to average a new Fitbit about every fourteen to eighteen months.
