@Ellie71  I have not called them on it because I keep getting the same stock answers for other issues I've had with my Sense.  It's similar to what happens when you call tech support and get someone who is basically reading a script - there's no true "support".  Just "thank you for your patience.  Try rebooting, uninstalling, etc."  Blah, blah, blah.  No one is truly listening.  You can see that by the quality of the replies.

How does Sense detect that i'm walking on treadmill?

I'm working on standing desk, and today it count me up by 25 flights, which is odd...

May be they could auto-correct on server side this postfactum correlating with nearest airport pressure?

Ofc if location is known (via gps or weather station f.e.)

OMG, can you just stop with this templates / copy&paste responses??

We're all saying here that floor count was ok up to like 2 months ago and than it started to count crazy numbers of floors!

Stop telling us to restart device, about wind, storm, pressure etc!

It's not a single case - its obviously another Fitbit bug!

Just get it sorted - that's it!

Are we all riding elevators or opening doors constantly over the last 2 months??

A bit of common sense please and respect for customers

I performed a factory reset of my Sense but it hasn't helped any. I continue to see way too many stairs.

I was contacted by Fitibt Service to return my sense. 🙂 now I'm waiting for the new one.

I'm on virtual chat number 3 atm...I have restarted, rebooted, reset....eventually someone should admit it's a problem.

Definitely related to an app update. Mine started counting 60-70 floors a day 2 days ago. I've checked on Google Play and my phone has updated Fitbit app 2 days ago...

I hope your experience is better than mine.  Their pre-paid return service is stunningly slow.  It looks like it will be 8 days from Arizona to California.  I could have walked it there more quickly.  That and they won't authorize shipping an advance replacement (with the ability to charge my CC if I fail to return the defective unit).

The very poor customer service on the "stairs" issue and the complete inability to cancel premium (why am I stuck paying for premium when my device is defective and in their super slow return process?) has really soured me on Fitbit, after years of use.  Really seems like they have stopped trying to have any kind of customer service.

@TomasD76 - Right?   I was playing a pretty slow game of frisbee today with my Sense on my left arm (I throw with my right).  13 flights of stairs.  The only thing I can possibly think (for me) is that my wrist is too small to stay in constant contact with the sensors underneath.  My husband doesn't have an issue with his counting needless floors.  I'm going to return mine to Costco and try another one.  If that gives me the same issue, it's bye-bye Fitbit.

I have restarted my sense now twice. Like everyone else the issue seems not to be with us but with the programming.

For what it's worth, Fitbit seems to think it is a hardware issue and asked
me to return my sense under warranty.

I received my Fitbit sense for Christmas and it counted stairs pretty accurately for 2 or 3 weeks - now it is totally out of whack!  For instance, I've been awake for one hour this morning and it shows that I've done 29 flights of stairs when I haven't even done one!  Fitbit you obviously have shanked a recent update and now you need to fix this.

I am still talking with support, but now it's e-mail support and not live chat.  Today they asked if I had indoor heating....and tried to pass the blame that way.  🤣

@chelseabelle Indoor heating??  🤣🤣 Next, they'll try to blame my cat for walking past my wrist and creating a breeze.

I never had the extra stairs issue with my versa. Now I’m the “StairMaster”. I get +25-30 flights a day even if I don’t move.  And it’s not like the air pressure radically swings throughout the day.

plus, I get so many more active minutes, makes me think this Sense is expensive garbage

It's pretty ridiculous because I ended up sending my sense back and going
with the Versa 2. And guess what The cheaper one has been doing its job
more correctly!

The last couple days the floor count on my sense is very inaccurate.

Earlier I might get 1-3 floors in my apartment but yesterday I passed 100 and at least 80of them was in my apartment. Today it passed 32. Mostly just been walking sitting around

Your Fitbit Sense tracks floors with an altimeter affected by air pressure, so any change on it could affect its readings, for example A/C. You can learn more about this at
