I have the same issue did you get it fix it? Do you know how to delete the incorrect floors ? My Versa 2 did not have this issue.

My Fitbit sense is tracking flights of stairs while I’m sleeping. This happened suddenly today. It’s never happened before. Does anyone have any experience with this? And do you have any solutions? I got zero help from customer service.

Every day my sense is recording between 30 and 60 floors even though I have not climbed that many floors. how do I fix that?

Welcome to the club! You’re lucky to have gotten this far without this issue coming up until now.

Q1: yes

Q2: no

Normally about now someone, usually a monitor, will post that customer service says that it will be fixed at next update.

No, I had not worn or charged my sense since November 10 and my floors were 158 which is impossible. While not wearing it or charging it I was registering calories burned and over 1000 zone minutes a day. When I got to my desk today I charged the device within 10 minutes I had burned 1500+ calories and went up 4 flights of stairs. While writing this post I have went up another 2 flights.  My new question is how can I burn calories while not wearing it? Before I stopped wearing the sense I wore both me sense and charge for a day. The charge from what I can tell was pretty accurate but the sense floors were way off so how can I device be accurate and not the other device. My heart rate for charge was stable and matched my new device while the sense was all over the place. Best of luck.

I have worn a Fitbit Device of one kind or another since 2014. The altimeter has always worked correctly and every device until the Sense. It is entirely unacceptable that we are being told that it’s a normal thing for the altimeter to track floors with with certain hand or arm movements or opening doors. Simply ridiculous and absurd!

I joined Fit in 2014 and have been a huge advocate of the devices up until the past year. I also think ever product i have owned has worked very well until the sense. Yes the support and have been absurd. I have 35 floors so far essentially sitting at my desk today. Support has no explanation why the other products work correctly.

My experience is the same as the last two posters. I have had a few issues with previous devices which were promptly resolved by customer support. Standards have gone downhill in the past year.

I'm very disappointed that they have not addressed this issue. And to tell us that it is a normal function of the altimeter is laughable!

Yesterday I got a floor count of 172. I was busy but not 172 floors busy. They removed the floor count on the new Charge 5 (I wonder if it is because of similar problems). They should do the same on the Sense since it can't be counted on as being accurate.

My sense is recording 900 stairs a day when I only do 10. My house is not windy so there has to be another reason. Does anyone have a fix?

HI @MissMaus  - unfortunately there is no fix for this. The erratic stair count appeared with the firmware released June 2021.

@MissMaus  - thanks, forgot. You could try restarting the watch, it won't solve it but it may reduce the number of false floors counted.

Hi @NyeeNyee

If you are interested in how your watch pressure sensor is behaving or whether you can get a more accurate floor count, try the SimpleFloors app.

It shows how your watch is affected by environmental issues such as, going room to room, upstairs/downstairs, inside to outside, changes in temperature, etc.

With this you can get a better picture of whether there is a problem with the watch or with the current version of firmware.
