Hi - same problem for me. I have a Fitbit Sense it worked perfectly fine until last week. Since then my floor count is inaccurate (I dont climb stairs and it shows 40-50 floors). I have reset the device, wearing it correctly. Nothing has changed since last week so not sure what the problem is. Really annoying I have only just bought mine 3 months ago.
It is very annoying. It makes me wonder if these types of issues began since they sold out to Google.
Best AnswerThey're gaslighting their customers. I personally don't care very much about the floors - this is my first Fitbit, I use it for sleep analysis and keeping track of exercise. But I do wonder if that data is correct since the floors are clearly purely bad data. The gaslighting is horrible. When this watch dies I'll look for alternatives and I'm a premium member.

There's also heartrate monitoring which has been questionable at times. Someone did an analysis you can read here, Solved: Re: heart rate monitor - Fitbit Community.
I do find it a bit odd that Fitbit hasn't released a Sense 2 or Vera 4 last year. They typically release a new watch every year and wonder if Google is now having a say in the devices and causing a delay or moving the Fitbit ecosystem to WearOS and Google developing/releasing watches.
At any rate, looking into moving to Garmin. They may be more expensive, but you don't have to pay for a premium subscription service like Fitbit does to get better analysis of the data the watch records.

@primortal All these fitness tracking devices have some flaws. Keep in mind that Garmin is known for poor sleep tracking according to TheQuantifiedScientist and his objective tests and comparisons versus an EEG.

It's probably not clear in the screenshot because of compression but the ones in the top right are the best, all the Fitbits are actually very good with sleep tracking along with Whoop 4 and Withings Sleep Analyzer. Just check any of The Quantified Scientist videos and you'll see this graph and explanation.
This is a bogus answer. I’ve seen this problem with the My wife’s Versa and Versa 2. It’s not the altimeter. I spent 37 years as a weatherman and there’s no way this would happen everyday regardless of pressure rise or fall. The problem is the hole on the side that allows air to the altimeter. It gets clogged with junk. It’s more common with women who use lotions.

@StuManFu It might not be weather related altimeter issues. From January 7 to February 10, my unit was a COVID only negative pressure floor. Going in and out of rooms and the unit artificially inflated my numbers a lot. Per week I got 274, 203, 172, and 142 floors counted. The two weeks after I got 114 and 109 which is still inflated but but more realistic.
Pressure changes seems to explain my situation. Not a big lotion user either.
Best Answer@StuManFu , nja, not so sure. "The floor" issue has been present since day 1. On my first Sense the clock face fell off, so I am on my number two, same issue since day one. Furthermore, if the sensor is clogged, I would think it should count 0 floors since a clogged sensor can't detect any changes?
