Sense is draining the battery quickly

Hi.

I got my Fitbit Sense delivered yesterday evening and connected / charged it to 100%. The battery was dead at 5.50am this morning so alarms obviously didn't go off on it. Charged it back to 100% and walked to work, down to 79% already after just under 2 hours from full charge.

After the drain overnight, I turned always-on off, turned off google assistant, swapped the clock face to a standard (non-SpO2) face, turned off notifications etc, setting the brightness to low (basically limiting everything). At this rate the battery will be drained by the end of the day, and the functionality is pretty limited with everything turned off. Any pointers / resolutions aside from the steps already taken or should I be looking to return the product?

Thanks.

Hi @bretterickbp - the first thing to try is restarting your Sense. Press and hold the button (at the left) for 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, and then release the button. Do this twice. Please let us know if this helps.

@SunsetRunner thanks for the reply. I restarted twice as requested. This was around 36%. An hour later I was down to 20% ready for the walk home. Obviously ran out by the time I got home. So I'm charging it for the 3rd time in 20 hrs. I'm going to charge it fully again and then reset and resync to my mobile and see how I go. If that doesn't work I'll probably need to send it back as not much use if it can't make it at least 24 hrs on a charge. I'll let you know what happens.

Hi @bretterickbp the SpO2 clock face doesn't record your SpO2 at night. The watch now has an hidden SpO2 app, which may be removed if the user doesn't want it. This will help a lot with the battery.

@Rich_Laue thanks for the comment. I understand, but if it can't make it a single night from full charge there's something fundamentally wrong with my device. Even with that app installed it should last at least a day surely.

I did the factory reset and paired with my phone again but no improvement. Battery fully drained during the night again from a full charge.

I'm returning the device to the retailer and going to weigh up getting another/alternative fitbit or getting another brand device.

Thanks for the input @Rich_Laue and @SunsetRunner
