I have had this issue with my other Fitbit devices but I'm just getting tired of it happening. My step tracker is showing I've walked thousands more of steps that I haven't done. How do I make it stop? Like for instance, it shows I've walked today over 58,000 steps when I've maybe done 6,000.

Hi @Sherylkirby70.
Is there anything you are doing that could be mistaken for steps taken? For example certain arm movements, or even driving in a vehicle that has stiff suspension. I get credited steps at work driving an Aircraft pushback tug, I've also heard of people being given steps for knitting, playing instruments and even typing on a keyboard (this is a limitation with how the devices detect steps). If you can anticipate the times this happens, it is possible to remove the erroneous steps. You would need to know the time and period it happens for though.
Also have you tried setting your device to the dominant arm setting (even if you are not wearing it on your dominant arm) as this reduces sensitivity.

Hi @Sherylkirby70. Welcome back to the forums. @N8teGee Thanks for sharing your insights and help.
@Sherylkirby70 Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This isn't the type of experience that we want you to have and I'm sorry for this inconvenience. In addition to the great suggestions shared by our friend, could you check if you have MobileTrack set up in the Fitbit app? This function was created to record basic stats such as steps by using your phone's sensors if a Fitbit device isn't available.
If this applies to you and there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, or if your phone was vibrating during that time, that might also be the reason why you received an incorrect amount of steps. I'd recommend removing this function with the steps described here and monitor your Sense's behavior in the next days.
