Sense keeps going into exercise mode

My sense keeps going into exercise mode dispite me turning off all auto exercises. It’s very frustrating as it uses battery and my HD shows me as being on treadmill up to 20

times a day. Even in my sleep. This is very annoying as I track my exercise with my watch and need it to be accurate and it’s frustrating having to sort through 20 treadmill logs to find the right one

@eway2929 Welcome on board.

Thanks for letting me know about your Sense. I understand how frustrating this is and appreciate your efforts while working on this situation. While this is odd, could you check if you have any exercise set as a button shortcut? Let me explain that sometimes when doing activities that require you to move your wrist a lot, the button might unintentionally be pressed and a shortcut might get activated by mistake.

To check this, I'd recommend reviewing this help article under Use button shortcuts. Also, please try wearing your watch higher on your wrist to prevent you from hitting the button.

Hi @Charlieg4. Welcome on board.

I understand your frustration and thanks for the steps tried prior to posting. This is odd as treadmill can activate only from the Exercise app, and SmartTrack activities will be detected based on continuous movement of your arms. Given this situation, please give a try to the following steps to reconnect your Sense to your account:

  1. Remove your Sense from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  3. Restart your watch to refresh its performance.
  4. Open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Set Up a Device.
  5. Choose your Sense, tap Replace Device and follow the on-screen instructions.
  6. Monitor your watch's behavior in the next days and let me know how it goes.

@Charlieg4   It seems like the Versa3/Sense screens are very sensitive to touch.  Other users posted that long sleeves activated the screen.  I once started a walk in my sleep.  But I never experienced anything like you are describing.  You can customize the order of the apps on the Sense screen.  If you lightly press on an app icon, you can move it.  If this is a sleeve issue, then moving it to another page might help.  You can do one of two things to prevent screen activation in your sleep.  If you put your Sense in sleep mode, the automatic screen wake and notifications are turned off.  If you need notifications, you can just set the screen wake to manual.

DId you ever find a fix for this.  It's happening to me on a daily basis.  Very frustrating.  I traded in my Ionic b/c of a recall but I sure wish I still had it.  This is making Fitbit less attractive every day I have to turn of an exercise that I never initiated.  Then delete it from the app.

Thank you for your response. I do have a shortcut set. I’ll disable it and see if the problem persists.

Thank you for the direction.

I removed turned off the quick start feature and that seems to have done the trick. A shame I cannot use that feature though.

Thanks for the direction.
