My Fitbit sense keeps pausing during workouts (circuit training and weights) and it stops tracking it completely. Even the time stops.. how do I stop this from happening so I can measure my workouts better?

I’m a long time time Fitbit user, and this is unacceptable! If this continues to happen I will be switching to Apple!
UPDATE: I take it back...I just had an issue with my sense where the band was no longer clipping in. The live chat agent replaced the unit no questions asked in under 5 min. Amazing customer service.

Like others here, I just moved from the Ionic (which I loved) to the Sense due to the recall.
I can't imagine that my hand/wrist is touching that button, but I'll move it up my arm a bit just to see. I'm also going to set the screen to "always on" in the hopes of noticing more quickly if it has paused. Agreed with others here though... Pause needs to be much more configurable than it is now.

@Roll4you wear it on the opposite hand and rotate it so you can see the screen correctly. Although, the button will now face wrist (if I am correct). For me, pausing by pressing the button happened a few times and only during bouldering/rock climbing when wrist bends a lot. Bigger issue are rainy days when water interacts with the screen and that paused (or ended) my runs several times.

That's a good idea. I wear it on my wrist arm, so that would actually move the button away from my wrist. How do I rotate the display? Neither the Sense user manual nor the interwebs seem to know the answer to that.
In the meantime I've switched the watch face to always-on when I work out and I disabled quick actions from the long button press, and I got through a workout yesterday and an outdoor run today without my Sense falsely pausing.
Thanks!

Agreed - when you buy the top of the range device, you shouldn’t have to be making concessions on functionality, or readjusting all the settings prior to an exercise session. This is my first ‘serious’ activity tracker watch beyond a basic step counter, and I must confess, for the money ($500 AUD), I’m quite disappointed at its ability to do what one might reasonably expect. My main activity is simply walking, so the excessive wrist flexing during exercise that some others have postulated as the cause isn’t even a good excuse.

My son, daughter, and brother-in-law are all runners, and all swear by Garmin devices - I’m wondering if I made the right choice switching to the Fitbit family (my original device was a Garmin vivoFit - only a basic step counter, but other than the strap breaking, didn’t let me down).

Not sure why the problem is marked as ‘solved’, when over a year on, people are still complaining that it is happening…

Change the bands to the opposite sides.

I too switched from the Ionic to the Versa 3. Ionic was amazing. The Versa 3 would be amazing as well, except it keeps stopping workouts. The suggestions about moving the watch or wearing it on different wrists are useless as the button activates by either your arm or your wrist depending on which way it's facing. Wearing it higher up on your arm is no good as arms are tapered (anatomy) and wearing it tighter is uncomfortable and causes the button to be activated more often. The reason the button is being pressed is because the sides of the watch taper narrower the closer it gets to your arm. This makes it so any tilting in the direction of the button activates the button. To add to this design component, some users have commented that squeezing the bands also activates the button, mine didn't do that but there is a video in the forum somewhere of someone demonstrating it. I ended up returning mine as it is can't be used as a workout tracker. Customer service was great.
I may end up going with the Versa 2 which has a flat edge and a mechanical button. But it kind of sucks having to go backwards.

Having same issues with sense 2! Completely annoying to see people saying to do workouts with the sleeves up! Try that when is -5! 😞
a lock is a must!!! Annoying to see
the feature is not planned!
