Sense low battery indicator

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 3 used to give me a visual warning when battery was getting low but my Sense doesn’t seem to and I’ve got caught with it running out of power in middle of exercise or sleep and I miss data.  Any setting I’m missing?  It is frustrating.

Hi, Yes there is.

Please check your setup

In the phone Fitbit App

Depending on your needs may be a clock face with battery prominently shown also helps, such as SimpleClockDuo  which also keeps a charging history and predicted charge time.

I am wanting the onscreen notification on the watch face like my Charge 3 would display when charge level got below 10%.  Can the Sense do that?

Best Answer

Yes, see the sample already sent, 100% is shown in green.

When it gets to 17% or lower it turns to red, and also vibrates to warn you each time it drops 1% when its getting low and works on the Sense. There may be other clocks if this one doesn't suit your needs.

My sense doesn’t vibrate when battery is low.

Best Answer

@MarkoA  that is correct, watches go into low power mode when the battery gets very low and so turn off vibration to conserve the maximum amount of energy.

In addition, the vibrate is very feeble on the Sense anyway even when set on strong and  it doesn't help that it gets weaker still as the battery level decreases.

In my case the problem is still there. I tried all the settings that I could find, with multiple clock faces. There is no "low batt warning" whatsoever. I hope that this is a bug from Fitbit. What is the official Fitbit answer about this? (Please, don't send us to third parties).

Hi @Idontneedaname  - in the watch face shown in an above post, battery level is prominently shown in green or red when it gets low, and it vibrates for every 1% below 17%, albeit weakly.

The watch OS has no feature except status indicators which don't vibrate.

@smurphette19 @MarkoA @Idontneedaname

I am notified of a low battery by setting up the watch for email notifications. The app sends me an email when battery is below 25%. The email then pops up on watch face and vibrates to alert me. I charge it at that point but it gives me some time to charge at a later point in the day. Additionally, my watch face of choice is the SimpleClockPro, which has the low battery indicator feature Guy stated. Between those methods and the fact the app has the battery level displayed at the top right of the today page when ever you sync, I’ve never (since 11/3/2020) had my sense shut down due to a depleted battery.

So you got the watch face battery level indicator,

the email notification that hits the watch face, the app battery level top right today page whenever you sync. Not sure why you’d need anything else.

I am sorry, I used that face, had never been "vibrated" under 17%. After 2 weeks of using it I decided to change it.
The Charge 3 worked like a charm, so there is possible to do it, Fitbit. Why did you decided to ruin it? I get my bracelet empty and off all the time because I am not informed. This is simply dumb.

@Idontneedaname  - the problem is the poor vibration on the Sense which only gets more feeble as the level decreases.

My battery just went below 25% and alerts went off like a crazy. I would have had to be in a coma to miss it.

I don't want an email notification on my Phone because I don't receive email notifications on my watch. I want a simple notification direct on the watch. What is so complicated? The vibration I can feel even if feeble, but in my case i had none. Under 20% I get no vibration, message or anything on the screen. Only the red battery color and I need to check it all the time. This is so stupid, sorry.
Why would I need to send an email on my phone to be then sent to watch just to get a vibration?

Best Answer

You get more than a vibration with the email, you get the message pop up on your watch like the picture I provided.

There is a certain level of awareness required to keep any device charged. Do you have a visual alert on your phone? Most phones have a battery status bar only.  Anyway I hope you get it sorted.

I think I did not explained my problem correctly.

- I do not want an Email notification. I don't want to be notified by email, phone, pigeon, TV, radio, nothing. I want a vibration ON the watch.
- I have all the notifications active from Fitbit app, and whatsoever, but I don't want emails notifications because I get 1000 mails per day and I would go crazy to use email notifications.
- I want a simple (yet efficient) vibration and/or pictogram on my watch telling me that I need to recharge. For the moment I get nothing when the battery drops.
- I used this for all the Fitbit Charge that I had in the past (2, 3 and 4) and it worked very very well. I had a pictogram showing a low batt and a vibration. Why is this so complicated to make.
-Please, don't send me to the emails solution again.

Hi everyone, it's good to see you around. @Guy_ and @Clove6060 Thanks for your suggestions!

@Idontneedaname Thanks for your thorough feedback and efforts while working on this situation. I understand how helpful it'd be to have a vibration on your Sense when the battery is low, and I'm sorry this isn't possible. Our team constantly works to improve our devices and my best advice is to vote for this request posted in the Feature Suggestions board. That way, our developers can take it into consideration for future updates.

In the meantime, let me explain that you can enable status indicators on your Sense to know when the battery is critically low. To do this, on your watch open the Settings app and tap Display > Status Indicators and turn them On.

hi @LizzyFitbit  - the issue is slightly more complex than the feature suggestion quoted.

As the vibration is so weak on a Sense or Versa 3 and gets weaker as the battery level declines a vibration when the battery level becomes low would not normally even be detectable.

Would you be able to tell us if your team is working on at least resolving the poor vibration, before they tackle the low battery warning?

Best Answer

@LizzyFitbit: I have all these settings OK, all the notifications set to ON.
@Guy_: This should not be a very big problem. Even if it's feeble, if it vibrates, then there is a chance to feel it. Anyway, if at 5% you cannot feel it, then Fitbit can start warning at 25%. Then 1 vibration at 25% and another at 20% for example, would be much better than nothing.

Best Answer

@Idontneedaname  -  Agreed, but if the vibrate worked well it could go on vibrating till the battery is flat.

This works absolutely fine on a Versa using the same program.

Tested it again tonight and the vibrate is so weak it is not detectable on a Sense.

In fact, the vibrate is so good on the Versa that it's necessary to turn it off at night if the battery falls into the low range.
