Sense not charging

My sense doesn't charge very well. Different outlets, charge bases, different houses/apartments, nothing seems to make a difference. I don't find this appropriate for a $300 watch. Anyone else have this problem? I ordered a new, aftermarket, charger from Amazon, it'll be here tomorrow.

I spoke too soon. I just contacted Amazon, this piece of **ahem** fitbit is getting sent back as soon as the replacement gets here tomorrow evening. If the replacement doesn't work any better, I'm sure garmin will love to take my $300 and sell me a watch that charges.

Hi @zacman83,

Have you checked to make sure all the pins are clean on the back of the watch?  If not, just take a toothpick and gently scrape the back of the watch.  The dirt and stuff on the back of the watch may be impeding the charger's ability to make a good, strong connection.

Yeah, I scrubbed the back of the watch with a new toothbrush and some room temp soapy water. Rinsed clean and dried thoroughly. I didn't get any results from that.

You can try this to ascertain if there is a connection problem or a watch problem

To see what's happening with the charge

Connect the charge cable to the watch and plug it into a PC USB port

The PC should announce a connected device with a sound, it means its connected and charging

[if there is no sound, either the volume on the PC is low, or off, or the watch is not properly connected to the charger or has a fault]

if the PC then announces a disconnected device with another sound, it means the watch battery is either very flat or the watch may be dead - this may occur repetitively until the watch comes on or is charging normally.

anyway wait 10 minutes [for battery to get to 5%]

if the watch or battery is not dead it will announce device connected again

[the watch may also wake up]

if after an hour there is nothing on the watch face

try starting it by pressing a button for a few seconds and waiting for the logo to appear or restarting with the buttons

if nothing comes on the screen, either there is a screen or button fault or the watch is dead  - but wait

Check the button start procedure, for Sense and Versa 3 especially, to make sure you are actioning it properly.

Sometimes a watch shutdown and restart may help.

On the watch

Swipe left

Click settings

Scroll to the bottom

Click shutdown and Yes

wait a bit

Then start by pressing the button till it vibrates or the logo appears

The new aftermarket charger did the trick. Best $10 I've spent in a while.

How did you get that and from where and how? Warranty?

The Sense seems to be a flawed product. I’m having the same issues, at first it drained pretty quickly , then I had issues with slow charging and now it won’t charge at all. I’ve tried all the “fixes” yet nothing worked so it’s going back today. For $300 is should work well the first 3 months. So many people are having the same issue with this watch, it tells you it’s a terrible product.
