Sense not recording Active Zone Minutes

Is anyone else finding that the Sense does NOT sense exercise even with the auto-sense button on? I just went for a huge power walk and the sense only noticed I was in the zone for the last 5 minutes, after I checked the watch to see what time it was. Sense counted the 67 minutes I was walking but did not count any zone minutes until after I “woke it up” near the end of the walk.

Hi @JFJ. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for letting me know that your Sense isn't recording Active Zone Minutes correctly. I understand how important this data is for you and let me give you a hand with this. As you may know, the Active Zone Minutes are earned based on the heart rate zones that you were on during your exercises. For each minute spent in Fat Burn zone you earn 1 AZM, and for each minute spent in Cardio and Peak zones you earn 2 AZM. You can find more about this stat in this help article.

That being said, let me suggest to perform a restart, wear your Sense a bit tighter and higher for an improved fit when exercising and sync with the Fitbit app once you're done to check your details.

Let me know how it goes.

Ok, I’ll do a restate. Thanks for the suggestion. Today I just turned the watch on every 10 minutes or so and it recorded more minutes. I’ll try a restart though!

Hi @JFJ. It's great to see you again.

You're welcome and thanks for checking the suggestions from my post. I'm glad you're receiving more Active Zone Minutes. The restart will refresh and ensure the performance of your watch, so please monitor its behavior and don't hesitate to let me know if this continues happening.

Have a nice day.

Hi there, @Mike1533.

Thanks for joining this thread and just to confirm, did you track your run using SmartTrack which allows your watch to detect your activities automatically? Or did you use the Exercise app? Also, has your Sense been recording your heart rate daily?

As you may know, the heart rate might be affected by several factors and it'll impact other stats such as the sleep stages and Active Zone Minutes. If you haven't done so, please review this help article, restart your watch to refresh its performance and wear it 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone during exercise. Monitor its behavior in the next days and let me know how it goes.

It was working as intended until yesterday.  Restarted and it went back to working as intended today.
