Sense not recording exercise

Hi. This morning I put out garbage for pickup and cleaned up the yard for about 15 minutes, my average HR was 85. It recorded this as exercise but after that I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the treadmill. The fitbit recorded the steps and recorded the heart rate in the active zone minutes but did not record it as exercise. Is there maybe some settings that I haven't found yet to have my fitbit automatically sense my workouts as exercise? I contacted support and they were unable to help me with this issue. We checked if it's up to date. Reset the fitbit. They got me to turn off notifications for low and high heart rate (not sure what that does for the issue I'm having.) Nothing worked to fix it. Please help! So disappointed because I got this specifically to track my exercise and to sync it with my weight watchers app. If it's not recording exercise then it doesn't update the exercise in my weight watchers app.

Probably not exactly what you are looking for but since you are new to Fitbit, maybe you haven't yet discovered the Exercise App.

If you use the Exercise App to record a workout instead of relying  on auto-recognition, it guarantees it will be recorded as an exercise session.

Thank you! I was hoping it would just recognize it automatically but I will definitely have to do that from now on to ensure it gets tracked properly.

That also makes sure you get the start and ending time correct, and lets you choose which activity you are doing rather than risk it incorrectly auto-identifying your exercise type.
