Sense not waterproof

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I went swimming wearing my Sense and had the swim programme activated when it stopped working. Sensors appear water logged with condensation. Contacted Fitbit regarding this and they just say my warranty is out. But this isn't a warranty issue, the Sense is faulty, and not waterproof to 50m as they advertise. Numerous emails and they just gave a small discount code to buy a new one, and now ignoring my emails, and not addressing the issue. Anyone else encounter similar issues with it not being waterproof?

You’re not the first and won’t be the last. Fitbit customer service is truly terrible. You’re either in warranty or they tell you to beat it.

I’m sorry about your experience though. I’ve been through the same thing.

Same. I went swimming yesterday and since last night it just shows the fitbit symbol and vibrates when that pops up on the watch. I felt comfortable wearing it because it stated water resistance to a certain depth (3ft?) I wasn't even that deep of water floating on the lazy River and swimming at the wave pool in 3ft or less of water. Very disappointed. I'm going to cancel my monthly membership and I'll start looking into a Samsung watch.

Hi, as @HiFitbit says, the seals fail.

The seals on some watches are not very robust and can also fail over time.

The discount is to get you to buy a new model watch which may be more expensive than buying the same model in the shops.

Not only that your current watch has features not found on the newer models.

If good battery life is important to you and you have to buy a new watch Garmin may be worth considering if you are changing brand.

I went for a walk yesterday and it started to rain. Halfway back home (about a mile) my watch started to go haywire. Vibrating, logo, back to normal and then just logo and vibrating till the battery died. Now it won’t charge or turn on. This was a replacement for the ionic and sadly is now off warranty. I love the features that Fitbit has, such as the sleep score, but truly disappointed in the quality of construction - the screen on my husband’s sense lifted off a few months ago so I shouldn’t have been surprised.

I go swimming in my pool almost every day and no problems with the Sense. It’s water resistant up to 164 ft. I’ve had my Sense for a little over a year. Before that, I had a Versa 2 which I also loved and swam with almost every day with no problems. My husband also has a Sense and no problems with swimming. Some days were in the pool for 2 hours and never a problem. I wish you the best.
