Sense notification service not running

How is this topic showing threads that are SEVEN years old, yet it is STILL an issue?

Restarting my phone 100% restarts the notification service, but fitbit / google needs to figure out WHY it stops in the first place.

It's quite irritating to miss several notifications because Fitbit just decided to stop working and the only way to know it stopped working is to go 5 steps deep into the app to see the message

Please, make sure to follow all the points listed in the help article that includes checking the settings on your phone your device and your Bluetooth.

It's not "how to get notifications"... It's that the notification service
randomly stops running.
Responses from Fitbit like this is probably why the issue has not been
resolved in 7 years
The error says "restart your phone to resume notifications", which works.
The notification service shouldn't be stopping in the first place
