My fitbit Sense "button" quit working today.  Sense is fully charged.

Hi @maddpadd -  try swiping the display to the left and in Settings at the bottom click on Shutdown, wait 10 seconds and place it on the charger to restart it and fully charge it. It may have had a problem.

@maddpadd- you probably have a faulty charge cable or there is dirt on the terminals. Presumably you have checked how to clean the terminals.

You may have tried to charge it but its not charging due to another issue like a faulty charge cable.

If you place it on the charge cable and plug it into a computer the watch should restart, or wake to show charge level and charge.

If it doesn't, carefully check the charge cable. One of the 4 pins may not be secure [most often the bottom left one when you hold it with the wire coming out the right].

If it is faulty get a replacement one under warranty or buy and new one online.

While I appreciate your advice:  I charged the fitbit to 100% last night.  This morning the battery said it was empty.  I charged some again and it is currently at 52% and the watch is working....but the "button" to the left of the face is still not working.  The face of the watch comes on after a couple of hard taps or wrist movement...but I can't turn it on by pressing/squeezing the watch.

Nor....can I squeeze and hole to restart or shutdown the fitbit from my wrist.

@maddpadd- Are you operating the button like this?

Worn on the left arm -

rest your other thumb on the arm to the left of the watch

and forefinger on the back of the hand

and do a gentle squeeze of the watch.

Using a finger nail won't work.

Were you able to do a Shutdown from the Settings menu?

Yes....using the correct way.  I can shutdown within settings of the watch.  Once I shutdown I can only restarting by attaching the fitbit to the charger as the button doesn't work.

@maddpadd-  thanks for the feedback, presumably there is no damage or dirt around the button?

Probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you check it out.

Also reachable via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support.

I'm wondering what your resolution was?

This appears to be a common problem, most often at 5 weeks after starting to use the fitbit.  Mine now discharges within 12 hours from 100% charged, and the button absolutely does not work at all anymore.  I'm returning mine for a refund because I *also* can't get fitbit to send me a kit to return my ionic as they were supposed to, so I could get the rebate there. And despite the fact a search of the forums shows this is a known problem with the Sense, fitbit appears to repeatedly deny it and blame the consumer, without giving any actual fixes.
